Well, the McMillan stock for my 338 showed up today. Waxed the heck outta the metal and bolted the stock on the action. In less than a month I'll be on Admiralty Island (a little west and south of Juneau) looking for a big Brown Bear.
The McMillan stock is pretty nice IMHO. They just made a cast of the Win Pre-64 Model 70 monte carlo stock and made a fiberglass version of it. Best of both worlds. Still feels like a M70 but it's a glass stock. The wet Alaska climate just begs for a glass stock. Stainless steel too, but the old Model 70's didn't come that way.
This ought to qualify as a real adventure.
