The Kansas F&G guys are doing it within spitting distance of where I live.
Kansas does not want to allow pigs to take over the state like they are doing elsewhere.
But, folks are trapping pigs in other states and importing them to Kansas and illegally turning them loose in public lands around federal lakes.
Rather then allowing legal pig hunting to control them, the F&G guys are hiring professional hunters using helicopters to go out and wipe out entire herds before they totally take over the landscape.
Allowing legal hunting would only encourage more illegal stocking in public lands.
And hunters can't kill them fast enough to make a dent in over-population or population control anyway.
It's probably a good thing to stop an envasion of non-native species to over-run Kansas public hunting & farm land.
