Hello again Shotgun aficionados! I have a bunch of questions about another shotgun. This one belonged to my girlfriend's grandfather, and her father has been using it for deer hunting.

Since the deer season is over for slugs, I asked to borrow it for pheasant season, so I could study it a bit more.
The barrel is stamped with manufacturer and model information.
On the Right Side it says
12 GA -2-3/4"
MADE FOR RICHLAND ARMS Co -MADE IN SPAIN

On the Left Side it says
BLISSFIELD, MICHIGAN MODEL 844
LANBER ARMAS,S.A.

The left side of each barrel is stamped. The picture does it pretty good justice

The Underside of the Barrel where it sits in the receiver is stamped with a few groups of numbers and letters
On the left is I.G. on top of 12-70, then 108390 in the middle
On the right I assume are 4 import stamps on the top, an R in the middle, then 1200 Kgs on the bottom

Inside the Forend The numbers 390 are stamped on the wood and the metal

On the Inside of the Receiver The same numbers and symbols from the bottom of the barrel are stamped. Obviously matching the receiver with the barrels. It's hard to see in the picture, but all four assumed import stamps are there, as well as the R and T.G. 108390 12-70

So it is a Richland Arms Model 844 with 26" barrels. I already know all this information on it http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=218681 because I can use google and read results. What I would like to know is the date it was made, and any interesting information about the gun. Thanks everybody!

The left side says Lanber Arms. You can buy a new Lanber Arms O/U from CDNN for $599. The new ones are a bit prettier.
The Lanbers are good serviceable guns, but nothing special.

The shotgunworld link still doesn't work for me, so I don't know what they said, and I'm too lazy to log in and search for the thread. It's easier to reach over and grab the books.

The 1990 Standard Catalog of Firearms lists a Lanber 844 O/U for up to $450 for the EST model in EXC condition. The blurb says the gun was made until 1986 when the entire line was no longer imported.

It came in four variations with various chokes.

ST was 2.75" with 26 or 28-inch bbls., extractors, single selective trigger and vent rib.

MST was 3".

EST had ejectors.

EST CHR was an EST double triggers.

Yours is marked 12-70 or 2.75". I guess the question is, do you have an EST or ST, ejectors or extractors? The 1200 means it was proofed to 1200 kg/cm² (17160 lb. per square inch).

I looked up 2 of the 4 proof marks. They are Spanish, from Eibar, and the ones on the ends have been in use since 1929.

I believe it has an extractor not ejectors. It's a single bar in the middle of the two barrels. I haven't fired it yet, so I don't know.
I'm a little confused now. Is it a Lanber Arms 844 imported by Richland Arms from Spain? I really just want to know the year it was made more than anything.

It was made in Spain for Richland Arms. Richland Arms did not make guns, they were an importer.

I do not recall ever seeing a list of serial numbers and years for Lanber guns.
