Hello again Shotgun aficionados! I have a bunch of questions about another shotgun. This one belonged to my girlfriend's grandfather, and her father has been using it for deer hunting.
Since the deer season is over for slugs, I asked to borrow it for pheasant season, so I could study it a bit more.
The barrel is stamped with manufacturer and model information.
On the Right Side it says
12 GA -2-3/4"
MADE FOR RICHLAND ARMS Co -MADE IN SPAIN
On the Left Side it says
BLISSFIELD, MICHIGAN MODEL 844
LANBER ARMAS,S.A.
The left side of each barrel is stamped. The picture does it pretty good justice
The Underside of the Barrel where it sits in the receiver is stamped with a few groups of numbers and letters
On the left is I.G. on top of 12-70, then 108390 in the middle
On the right I assume are 4 import stamps on the top, an R in the middle, then 1200 Kgs on the bottom
Inside the Forend The numbers 390 are stamped on the wood and the metal
On the Inside of the Receiver The same numbers and symbols from the bottom of the barrel are stamped. Obviously matching the receiver with the barrels. It's hard to see in the picture, but all four assumed import stamps are there, as well as the R and T.G. 108390 12-70
So it is a Richland Arms Model 844 with 26" barrels. I already know all this information on it http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=218681 because I can use google and read results. What I would like to know is the date it was made, and any interesting information about the gun. Thanks everybody!
