I have an idea for an inexpensive straight pull scout rifle that uses commonly available parts and magazines, and i need help with acquiring parts, specifically a barrel.
I'm looking for an ar-15 barrel in safe to fire shape, .223 caliber. chrome lining, twist rate do not matter, as long as the barrel can be put into a standard spec ar-15 reciever and fired with no ill effects.
the rifle i'm going to make will be an ar-15 barrel and bolt assembly married to a tubular aluminum reciever and conventional stock, and redesigned bolt carrier.
the production rifle will come n a long action and a short action, the long action will be for .308 class cartridges, and will have the option of using FAL, g3, or m-14 magazines.
the short action will come in 7.62X39, and .223, and will have the option of using AK, ar-15 or mini-14 magazines.
suggestions and ideas are also needed.
