Picked up a new Browning Hi power 75th anniversary and was in love with the natural point of aim and the feel. I put about 1000 rounds through it last weekend and it fed everything without an issue. My wife and mother-in-law shot it extremely well too- they shot it alot better than my other guns surprisingly.

The trigger is a little stout, but will have disconnect removed in future and maybe a trigger job. Who knows, might be my EDC for winter :)

Holy crap the factory mags are expensive though. Will definitely be buying more Mec-gars than factory.

I am not starting a war here. That being said, I am also not a caliber bigot- I like the 9 and 40 too. This is not a 9mm vs 45 discussion, this is just appreciation for the browning hi-power and it is also not a Glock versus everyone discussion.

Here are mine. The wood stocked one is .40SW and the other is one of the recently marketed former Israeli service pistols. I wouldn't trade either and plan on picking up a couple more when I can. I particularly like the .40 but the 9mm will do the job also. Enjoy yours and Keep shootin'

I've got more than one BHP in both 9mm and .40 S&W. All are of the Mark III era; one Practical and one Silver Chrome along with the others in flat black. Early on I had a blued one but found its finish to be WAY too delicate for carry purposes.

Have done some quick and dirty shooting under the shot timer using both calibers for the exercises. My results were about the same regardless of 9mm or .40 caliber.

And oh that's right, the mag disconnects mysteriously fell out of all my Hi Powers...or maybe they were like that when I got 'em...yeah that must be it. ;)

Thanks it is a 1972 BHP with custom C&S parts. It is my everyday carry gun except for the summer when I carry a Kahr CW9.

Damn. Nice photos!

Rellascout,

Who installed the Trijicons and hammer for you? Very nice!

If I could find my digi camera, I'd post pics of my 1994 MK III, Silver Chrome BHP complete with factory Pachmyr grips, and gold "pimp" trigger! :)

Nothing fancy, but one of my favorite carry pieces...the thinner G10 grips make it melt into my hand!

Thanks... Wild West Guns did the work for me. They milled the slide and fit the sights. It has a C&S wide trigger, C&S Commander Style hammer and fitted sear, C&S thumb safety. I kept the stock barrel, slide release and mag release. It is currently wearing Spegel presentation grips.

I used to have one of those gold trigger MKIIIs. :D

These days I am down to 4.

The 1972 custom job above.

A MKIII practical.

I've bought a few Colts from WWG. They do nice work.

It's a beauty, and I really like the Spegels on it. I may redo my Silver Chrome MK III, or just get a blued BHP to have some work done.

I used to live on Richmond Rd. down the street from coach Cal. :D

I've never seen more royal blue in my life, YEAR ROUND than in Lexington.

sirgilligan

There is only one true blue, and that is the Blue of the Tarheels. :)

nice gun bro

rellascout,
I've said it before, and likely will again. That is my idea of perfection in the hi-power.

As my essentially worthless college degree was in history, I'll have to say that surjimmy's pistol by the late, great, Mr. B. is my idea of BHP perfection.
I've seen it on a few other forums (methinks surjimmy is rather proud of it, as I would be if only it were mine), and I never get tired of seeing it again.
