High quality 9mm?

When I first got my Beretta 92FS (now stolen) it wasn't what I would call a great shooting gun. But with a trigger job and good tune up, it was by far the nicest shooting 9mm I've ever fired. It begs to be tuned up.

If you can find a good, quality custom Beretta, you may find yourself one happy camper.

You may also want to look in to High Standard and Dan Wesson. Great guns they make.

S&W 952. They were made by the performance center and are some of the most accurate factory 9mm pistols made. Other choice: Sig210.

I have never owned nor have I ever got the chance to mess with one but I hear the BHPs are as bout as good as it gets.

My range toy is a Taurus PT 92 and even have a Ciener 22 LR conversion kit for it. Every bit as accurate as the Beretta, though not as good a finish however it can use a lot of the parts such as locking blocks, barrels etc depending on which year your Taurus was made.

I know this is the autoloader section, but have you considered a ruger single action convertible 357/9mm?

The 210 is nice for a range gun. Very nice. Except for the $3000 price tag etc etc.
One day I'll own one and it'll be my squirrel rifle. For now, the BHP serves well.

What you have to pay $3000 for a P210 in the USA? A former swiss service pistole P49 aka P210 worth only approx $1000-1100.
For target shooting they are meybe not better 9mm gun ever build.
But as "range toy" I would choose:
1. Walther PPQ
2. S&W M&P
3. IMI Jericho (in the USA maybe sold as IMI Baby Eagle)

If you whant the "holy grail" of 9mm handgun buy a Sphinx:

The sig 226, especially the EE version, a cz custom shop pistol, and a BHP with a trigger/action job all three seem to fit that desire very well.

I recently picked up a new Sig P226 and the E2 grip fits my hand better than any Sig I've tried. Much better than my compact P239. The P226 specs list the SA pull at 4.4lbs and DA at 10lbs. The DA is really smooth. After my first range session I knew it was the right 9mm for me. Takedown for cleaning takes but a few seconds.

Some years ago I fired a friend's BHP and that pistol did shoot very well for me.

226 equinox....and call it a day.

Is everyone forgetting the HK P7M8???

My thoughts exactly. What's not to like?

HK P7 PSP style

One of the best 9mms ever made.

If that doesn't do it for you then, as mentioned, you should consider the CZ75 SA with a czcustom trigger job or the deep blue BHP, also with a trigger job. Each choice oozes class and beauty as well as accuracy and reliability. The Sigs do deserve a mention but, IMO, they don't have that extra class the others have.

Many great 9s listed above that anyone should be proud to own. My personal favorite of the high quality ones is also the HK P7, with special affection for the PSP model.

Classy.....Indeed.

I would say get the CZ 75b SA and spend 400 or 500 on the gun. I would say it would far surpass most tho that kind of money is not required as it is a nice weapon from the start.

Tho 400 bucks would go a long way at CGW and you would have an outstanding weapon.

I'm very happy with my Kimber Custom II in 9MM. It has been 100% reliable and very accurate. The 1911 platform also gives it an exellent trigger.

Might you consider the first wonder nine? The smith 39-2? I loved mine until I sold it to a deserving friend............. in a moment of weakness.............

Grip looks really uncomfortable to me. These still made? I'd like to hold one of them just to see what they feel like.
