Thanks yes I have used these before for a bit of correction on sight but I have several I want to do so I think dremmel will be my friend.I used Harbor Freight Diamond needle files item #69876 @ $6.99. They cut through the case hardening and you can use the square or triangle file depending on how wide you want the "V".
I agree. I wouldn't mind having one of those on my 1860.I wish this company would make these stick on sights for the Pietta 1860 Army.

I posted this "there" a long time ago.dd, you know as well as I that if you are to maintain a proper sight picture, making the rear "sight" notch deeper won't make any difference. You must either lower the rear sight or raise the front in order to lower the point of impact.
Take note of what dd has done to the rear sight notch, this is exactly what I do prior to lowering the rear "sight". I too, prefer a U or square notch over the factory mini v notch.
