It is only a week for the auditions and a month for the shoot. Where else can you get a vacation with free room and board...granted you have to cook your own food..., get to shoot in a competitive setting and a chance at $100k

Couldn't have picked a better host. Great job.

For the complainers, don't watch it. It is what it is, and it is targeted to a certain audience. If you insist on changing a show into something it's not, then go pick a different show, preferably that stupid sitcom about the fat people.

You wonder why there's no show about IPSC? Because no one wants to watch 200 people shoot the same stage over and over without some other content. Plus, it's the same small group of people that win everything. On Top Shot, a savvy person can make it farther than their gun skills by having some person skills. If you just want to see nothing but shooting, there is probably a match nearby this weekend you can go watch.

Better yet, why don't you just participate in the match? Leave TV to the pros. It's all about ratings and I'll be watching...

I think its cool any show would ask folks to try out. thats a great thing to do.
Like last season I will give your show a look and thank you for coming on here.

I really wish I had more time, the scenarios looked fun and what a 'way to spend your summer vacation', right?

You know whenever a thread on this show pops up i cringe...

You really do not even have to read it, and you will know how it goes.

There will always be a few hollier than thou's that put the show down, put the network down, put reality tv down etc.

There will be those that propose they are much too busy in their very important lifestyle to watch trivial shows like that. These are generally people with a post count well into the thousands, on many forums.

This time we even had a gentleman attack the op for actually looking for contestants for a shooting show, on a shooting forum, the nerve of the op!

I love the show, many of my friends apparently have a low enough IQ to enjoy the show, and i would like to appoligize to the Top Shot original poster.

If i was in shape (is round a shape?), and could hit the broadside of a barn with one of my guns (instead of just polishing them) i would LOVE to be on your show!

stay classy san diego...

Personally I would be honored to be on their show.

Sadly I have to run the gun shop to make a living.

The show is cool though, definatetly will be watching this season.

Personally I like the show. Puts shooting in a good light and it's entertaining as well. Wish I was there for season one. I'm great with a rifle, almost as good with a pistol and I can shoot a bow, throw a knife/axe. Heck, I'm even pretty good with a blowgun and sling shot. Used a sling a few times. I even make my own archaic weapons, spears, atlatl, "hawks etc... JJ, Chris, Kelly and some of the others are better shots than I am but I'd have smoked their butts on the other stuff.

The down side is that there is now way I could ever be on camera. Too much of a private person from a lifetime of being the "Grey Man". I'd have to shoot myself in the foot just to be able to say "Ouch" :banghead: Deer in the headlight look every time the camera swung my way......

I think it would have been a blast.

I gave it another try last night and thoroughly enjoyed the shooting. I think it's great they are producing a show with wide appeal that puts shooting in a good light. The "drama" still bugs me...but I can live with it to watch some good shooting.

Seriously, though one rule that should be adhered to is: "There's no crying in shooting." (paraphrased from A League of Their Own). Last night, a grown man was crying about being sent home. I mean, can you imagine that happening at any shooting match you've been to? That's the stuff I think is so silly. But I guess I shouldn't quibble about what is over-all a fine production.

That's what happens when you state in the interview that you believe you're the "best shot in the world", follow that up with, "I'll remember who voted against me" and then lose to a shooter you view as a choker

No doubt...but if a guy at your shooting match was talking like that - and then crying when he lost - you'd probably give him a pretty wide berth. The producers seem to purposefully include these kinds of "loose cannon" personalities and then encourage them to "go off" on camera. They apparently think it makes the show more entertaining. I don't agree.

And don't forget about the free ammo.:D
