Maybe, just maybe, he has enough money and legal gumption to take this to court, appeal, and make an end run to the Supremes. Depending on Heller, this could get interesting.

FOID, being so easy to revoke, i.e. no convictions necessary, and presto - infringement of civil rights. Time to strike down the unconstitutional FOID card.

He was living in a multi million dollar house, I don't think he's hurting for money, and given that he's a trader and obviously a collector, and how we suspect a call by his angry wife is what tipped this whole thing off, I think it's safe to say that he's got the gumption too.

The feds are also testing the .50s to see if they are full auto.

The question is would he want them back after the police are done playing with all his toys :( If I had any really fine, mint, unshot collector's items and the feds took them to "test" if they were full auto, it'd kinda feel as if I was watching as the government raped my girlfriend just to make sure she was a woman. If you're that curious, just take a look; you can see from which parts are there and which aren't just what the capabilities are. I'd be very nervous if any collector's items, or even especially nice or unusual pieces were ever seized by the law.

I wish I had an 87 gun collection. I guess eight will have to do.
(Well, 8 & part of an AR build. ;) )

I moved away from IL three years ago for residence in CO and WY. When I purchased my first home in Casper, WY, the local soccer moms asked me where I was going to cement my 'first' gun safe in the basement.

I'm considering a new home purchase on the Western Slope in CO, and have heard that question yet again. Apparently, rockchucks are a serious threat in these hear parts.

FOIDs are quite a bit of BS. They're practically considered a qualifier for CCW out West.

I know someone who's got an arsenal of more than two guns and a stash of more than ten rounds of ammuniton! And a hoard of two pounds of gun-powder!

bonus points for using arsenal, stash, and hoard all in the same sentence. but you really need to work in cache somewhere. maybe in place of stash or hoard. but keep up the fine writing...i think you have a job waiting for you in print journalism.
