I am saying that not having any part of it, no matter how it is mounted, hanging over the edge, will put less torque and pressure on the edge of the top; that is basic physics.
I agree on the physics. I read it as referring to my post, just above yours, where I suggested that it could be moved further in from the edge

If I was concerned, I would have built a bench using a torsion beam at the front
 
I did the same as many others in drilling the hole but I also drilled a hole in a paint can for the spent primers to go in. It has been in this setup from day one. Since I can't get out today I think it is time to clean my press it has been a few years :(
