We had to use scope 1/2" risers as spacers to have proper clearance... :uhoh:

Maybe I'm dense, but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. Is it some kind of bipod/muzzle break combo? Maybe a pic of the side.

I don't think anyone is hating this, but I don't think anyone yet understands what they're looking at. Can you get a clearer picture of the problem area? The 1st picture is kind of dark.

I'm not saying anyone here is hating.

I'm not sure I understand the question about the problem area.

"Hi guys, check out this crazy thing we've created" was all the thread was about.

Aaargh. Color me confused! You were mentioning having to add sight risers (I can't even see the scope or sights in the first picture, and obviously they're not mounted on the rifle at all in the second), and something about your rifle stance?

"Hi guys, check out this crazy thing we've created" was all the thread was about.
Hadn't you posted it before though? I thought there was already a long thread about this build project! I know I've seen it before.

A long time ago. This one belongs to a client - it was built a bit differently.

I just wanted to share how wide the stance on it was. Nothing more, nothing less.

The VLOTR legs would not clear the walls of the shell, we had to use 1/2" burris risers on the magpul rails to get the legs connection points to clear the walls.

Edit: Here this may help:

I can't tell in the second pic if it's lit up inside or what - If it is, if it were mine I'd reconsider - it doesn't match the rest of the gun in my opinion.

Otherwise, it looks cool - not something I'd be fond of toting back and forth to the range, but mounted on a tripod or one of those tow-behind anti-aircraft mounts would be beastly, especially with a belt fed upper on a registered lower.

(I'm not a benchrest shooter)

How are the polymer magpul rails holding up? Why not use aluminum rail sections? Might hold up better in the long run.

Looks like your phase converter is missing a plasma port. I would not fire that without a class 4 jet tube till you get that fixed.

Uh, there is no "light up" system in this.

If you are referring to the wiring in the second picture that is for the rocker switch to engage the coolent system. (which was formerly an air cooling system)

The "lights" are actually what appears to be light reflecting off of a Hornady tumbler which is behing the gun.

Looks okay I guess. Not sure the exact purpose of the build so I'll keep my comments to myself for now.

I was expecting a pic of someone holding a rifle.... I just think the title is not worded properly. do you have any info on how the build is going?

Titan, I remember watching this project (or the other one you posted like it) for a while with some interest. I stayed out of the conversation mostly as your responses got defensive quickly. To me it seems like a little more patience in your explanations, a little more background information, and a little less attitude would go a long way. I love that you're trying something different and clearly you have talent and vision...but posting "Haters gonna hate" by post number 4 when you did little to set up what you were trying to share doesn't do you any favors.

Harcy that is the problem; a guy can't use light hearted humor now a days without someone blowing a gasket and crying foul.

I stopped trying to please everyone a long time ago, the internet is going to contain people who are just angry and there is nothing I can say or do to change that.

Thus, haters are in fact going to hate. I never use that term in real life, but comically - its a pretty fitting definition for some people.

Titan, it's true, the internet is serious business to some folks. I think your designs are cool as hell, and I'm sure they're a blast to shoot. Yes, it's not an ultralight hunting set-up, but clearly you weren't going for it. Keep building and tweaking, who knows, that "lame idea" might turn into something much bigger.
