How many guys carry at least 1 knife?

Benchmade 555 Mini-Griptillian folder is my constant companion. It's the perfect size, feels great in my hand, opens & closes w/ one hand and has a great clip that's kept it securely in my pocket for the last several years.

The tip of the blade is broke off because I used it as I shouldn't, but for me it's mostly a tool that gets used frequently through the day. One of these days I'll spend the ~$100 to get another and send this one back for a new blade for the $25 Benchmade charges.

I also carry a bitty Victorinox SAK for the toothpick, scissors etc.. It's a handy little critter for a multitude of tasks throughout the day.

I bought a couple of Sheffield knives for 99¢ each, I figured I'd throw one in my BOB and keep one in the trunk.

They seriously struggle as a letter opener. I am better off using a butter knife to open envelopes, the Sheffields can't open an envelope. They're not good at cutting fishing line or rope. I'm not sure what they can be used for. I thought "for 99¢ you can't go wrong" Boy was I wrong. They're worse than useless, they're wasted space and extra weight.

I'm re-evaluating what knife I want to keep in my car.

I keep an extra set of keys so that when I go to the airport, my key ring with the Gerber stays in the car. I lost one Gerber 200 and I don't want to lose the remaining one I have.

I either have a knife around my neck or one in my pocket. Although I own many neck knives it's usually one of a number of Brous Silent Soldiers. In my pocket it can be one of many different folders from inexpensive to rather pricey including autos which are legal to carry in Georgia. My preference for folders goes to Benchmade and Zero Tolerance but I have carried Spydercos the longest. I've really been enjoying the budget Kershaws lately (especially the Emerson designs) which will be spending more time in my pocket.

For work like cutting boxes I really like the Kershaw Needs Work and the Ka Bar Mule but they are more likely stay at home knives. Same with my Benchmade Mini Ambush.

For gentlemanly carry it is often a BM Kulgera in my pocket. For discrete a BM 530. For heavier duty a ZT350 or ZT301. A fun part of my day is choosing what I will carry. I never carry both a neck and pocket knife at the same time.

One? ONE?

Well, to be fair, there have been times when I carried just one.

From the time I was twelve I carried an Imperial "SAK" ... until I was 32 or 33, when I switched to a gentleman's folder (Gerber Silver Knight), which I carried a further twenty years, until late 2002 or 2003, when I began evaluating knives for general purpose, outdoor, and camping/hunting.

From then on, I've pretty much always had two ... or three ... or four ...

In my pockets right now: Case John Deere medium Stockman, EKA/Wenger Swedish/Swiss Army knife, EKA Swede 88, Leatherman Style. On my belt: Leatherman Wave, EKA Nordic T8.

So that's, what, six?

In my tablet bag there's a Buck Flashpoint LE.

Jacket pocket has a Case Sod Buster Jr in CV steel. Other jacket pocket has SwissTool "key" knife.

Truck console has Case Sod Buster Jr in stainless, Mora sheath knife, Rapala folding fishing knife, and a Buck Short Revolution. Also a Victorinox paring knife. Glove box has Wenger S10 SAK.

I won't bother listing what's in the emergency truck box. Most of that stuff would never fit in a pocket anyhow. Y'know, like hatchets and stuff.

Unless I'm flying or in court I'm never far from cutting equipment.

Always a pocketknife (usually an assisted opening model), and a small flashlight/penlight.

jdh, for some reason the image I could not view in post 27 yesterday shows up today (same computer with same browser.) Don't know what was up...

Always carried a small Buck or Case now I have a Portigesse copy of a Opinel as a EDC light weight makes for a easy carry.

Tomorrow I'll be going through my EDC rotation items and filling pockets with something different.

Here's what won't change:
EKA/Wenger SAK. This Swedish/Swiss Army knife lives in a glove pouch in a thigh side pocket, along with the Leatherman Style. That glove pouch is always with me.
The knives in my jacket. Doesn't matter whether I'm wearing it or not. Those knives just live in the jacket, period.
The Leatherman Wave on my right hip. It's a permanent fixture there.
What changes is the right front pocket (generally something smaller, lighter), the left thigh side pocket insert (a mini-pocket in the top seam of that pocket), and possibly the belt pouch on my left hip.

Haven't made up my mind yet.

EDIT to add:

Just for laughs, I went back and looked up the pictures of that glove pouch. (The glove pouch is just a glove, turned inside out and then peeled down to expose the fingers; it let's me be a geek without rattling when I walk.) There was a picture of the Swedish/Swiss Army knife (the EKA Executive Major) with it, so here ya go:

Here's the glove pouch, seen from the top:

And here's the contents on that day, including the SAK:

Benchmade Mini Barrage as a primary and Benchmade Mini Griptilitan as a backup. I generally care more with me when hunting. Surefire 6P LED for a light. I used to carry Spydercos when I was younger. I loved them. Loved them. But, I always ended up catching the pocket clip on a door striker plate or something and breaking them off. Then it was only a matter of time before they were gone.....I got my first Benchmade (the mini Grip)as a groomsman's gift a few years ago, and have never looked back. It is really starting to suck that we are a Benchmade dealer at work......I get to see all the new ones come in and drool. I have held myself back so far.

Most of the time I carry 3.The CRKT M21-04G SPEARPOINT & CRKT M-16 -13LE SPEARPOINT. The other is a Byrd Rescue 2 . The 4" serrated blade cuts very well! These can all be replaced if needed.

I had a CRKT M16 that I usually carried but recently was given a Benchmade auto by my boss and it has taken the EDC role. I have had it for only about months but have put it to good use.

I have carried a knife since the third or fourth grade. My working knife is a discontinued KaBar Fin. My nicer knife is a Cabela's exclusive Benchmade 300 with a D2 blade.

Spyderco, KaBar, or Emerson are always in one of my pockets

I keep at least 1 fixed blade in each vehicle as well

So between those and the Multitool, theres usually 2-3 knives around me.

always a pocketknife, flashlight, ink pen and pliers. No matter when, no matter where. It's just my thing, I guess.
Lately, i have been carrying a Leatherman Supertool 300 in it's cordura case with a stubby inkpen stuck in one elastic bitholder, and a Brinkman Solitaire in the other. There's room for 6 .22mag cartridges for my NAA behind the velcro closure tab. I also keep a bic lighter between the elastic and the belt loop inside the pouch.

Just for the record a I carry a flashlight too. I used to carry a keyring type light but now I carry a Samsung Galaxy S4. Yes that's a cell phone. It works very well as a flashlight actually. I wouldn't trade in my really good flashlights for it but I don't have to carry those extra. The phone is always with me.

I technically carry at least two knives everyday, sometimes three. But I don't count two of them. The only knife I count is a Benchmade Adamas clipped in my front right pocket. The two I don't count are part of mutli-tools such as on a Leatherman or Card Logic.

Spyderco dragonfly, and a CRKT Hissatsu, Benchmade mini grip, Spyderco Ladybug on keys, 2 flashlights. ESEE Canduru or Izula at times. the Benchmade was just added to the rotation. I also keep some type of knife in all of my coats.[

Always carry at least one knife. Whether a larger locking folder, a balisong, an auto, a slip joint, or a fixed blade. So many uses for a knife I'm often amazed more folks don't carry them. Rather they use their fingers and keys and such to struggle at tasks. Course i live where knife carrying and use is legal except for ballistic knives. Can even carry openly an auto/switchblade....and concealed with a ccw. Nice to have choices and freedom.

I own many models from many brands...too many to list...but mainly quality production knives and midtechs...not so much customs.

always, since before i can remember, i have had a pocket knife in my pocket (case xx). how else are you going to play mumblety-peg?! currently a gerber is in my pocket.
