How many rounds did you shoot this year?

It's been a slow year. About 2500 .22s and close to 10K in 9mm. Now that I'm feeling better and have my new press set up this year should be better. I intend to shoot two matches a month and practice only one day a month but shoot about 400 rounds on those days.

I shoot a hundred rounds a week real regularly. Some weeks an extra 50 rounds. Probably a bit over 5,000. I have not checked the spread sheet but that is what I shoot every other year.

.
Hahaha deadin.

How many did you shoot? Just curious.

Nowhere near as much as I'd have liked, that's for sure.

I'd like to start my day with a cup of coffee and a few rounds off the back porch! if I could. Alas, I do not live in an area conducive to that lifestyle.

One day.

I cut way back on my .22 shooting this year, to about 2 bricks worth. Looking at my stack of empty primer cartons and powder cans in the corner I would say about 26K -28K centerfire. I am not adding to my inventory but merely replacing what I shot up to maintain a minimum until components show up in quantities again. Mostly 38 SPL LSWC as it is cheaper to shoot than the .22 LR lately. Some pistol shooting/rifle but the revolver ammo generally uses less propellant per round.

The way you guys shoot "light", you'll probably think Im not even a shooter!
In 2015, I probably sent less than 500 downrange. I only shot 22LR for critter control, 308 from a model 88 for load testing and sighting in irons and optics, 357 for load development, and the rest with practicing with the sig p238 and my BHP.

Lots of dry fires, though!

lol, well, "this year" as in 2016, I've fired probably 250 rounds of 9x19

Since I spent the vast majority of 2015 unemployed and almost homeless at several points, not enough. I think I fired about 500 rounds in all sorts of calibers all year.

I have cut down over the last 40 years years from more than once a week to about 4X a year. Each outing is around 300-400 rimfire and 100-200 centerfire. So maybe 1500 rds a year currently. Not enough but more than 95% of Americans. Joe

I feel bad for you man. I have been homeless and now I am disabled on a very restricted budget. I would like to just encourage you with this story. A few nights ago I was looking at the pictures of revolvers that were posted here by the folks. Their favorite guns. I can not and never will be able to afford a "nice gun" like the ones posted. I was lamenting that fact when I murdered a prayer that went like this,"God I will never be able to have even one of these beautiful guns...then I thought hey, 'God can do anything', so I said God you could put a nice 9mm in my hands within 24 hrs, heck you could put one in my hands in 12 hrs". I had the sense that he was going to answer my prayer. About 5 hrs later I saw a very poorly written post in Armslist for a Muzzle loader and a pistol that said $100 if you get them today, $150 if you wait till tomorrow. For the heck of it I answered the post and asked him if it was $100 a piece or for both. And what kind of pistol it was. He replied that it was $100 a piece and the pistol was a Norinco 9mm. I told him I wanted to see them so I drove right there (50 mi) The Muzzle loader was toast, very rusty, but the Norinco looked pretty good except for surface rust and being very dirty. So I bought the pistol. Got home and looked at my watch. It was 1PM. The prayer was at 4 am. That put it at 8 hrs to answer that prayer. I cleaned up the gun and it appears that it is nearly never fired. I figure maybe 100 rounds through it. Now I have a sweet 9mm that I really like. So my encouragement is this: God wants you to not only survive but he wants you to enjoy and praise him for the blessings. Have a great new year.

Can you tell us more about the .22lr reloads?
I have discussed reloading 22 rimfire on several threads here so far. It is obviously a very involved process. i would be happy to explain more about it but don't have the time to type right now. In a nutshell, I saw a youtube video of a guy that bought a "kit" for reloading 22 rimfire. He was a very knowledgeable reloader. The best he could do was about 700fps while dramatically exceeding the specifications in the kit. So I took some of the ideas presented and started researching and experimenting. The I had to invent and make my own tools. (tools are different than any other reloading tools because the 22 rimfire bullet is the same diameter as the case making it impossible to crimp with presses. Another obvious difference is the rim fire primer. That part is covered in the kit which I did not purchase. Then there is "what powder to use"? No specs to look up on that. Long story short. My first 4 loads fired. #1 only had about 1/3 grain of powder and was probably traveling somewhere abound 300fps. I worked up incrementally and the 4th round was more powerful than factory ammo. Since then I have been loading them probably too hot. I haven't had a powder measure. I bought one and found out that I have been loading them with much too much powder. I am going to cut back to a "reasonable load" and work from there. (experimenting with primer has resulted in quite a few that didn't fire. I am not sure if I have those kinks worked out yet.

I'm going to say less than 1000 rounds between centerfire and rimfire. But I have been reloading much more than usual getting my completed round count up. I'd guess somewhere around 10K handgun rounds and 3K rifle rounds.
