How many rounds did you shoot this year?

If I had to guess, I'd say about 6-7k. I burned a lot of 9mm as my carry pistol went from an airweight in 38 to two 9mm glocks. Between the 19 and the 26 I'd say about 2500 rounds. The rest are a split between 38 wadcutters and 45 acp. I tend to shoot more for accuracy and repeatability. I shoot 5 rounds each in every auto per mag. Re-group and shoot again. I try to get out about 3 times a month. This year I plan to do more. Time sure is a precious resource with all the house stuff and wife and son time. My little man and I will definitely do more as he growing into centerfire age. He's 10 now, doesn't like the autos but he is getting used to the 38 shooting mild WC's. Anyways, you 20k plus are lucky as all get out!

I don't usually keep track of how much I shoot, sometimes. But I do track the loads I assemble. So based on that, and my existing inventory of loaded rounds, I would say I put at least 2k of high powered rifle / bottle neck down range. Most of it was load developments I did for other folks.

I also log my reloads for handgun, but I don't usually log the number of rounds I loaded, mostly because I don't usually shoot all of it cause it gets added to the loaded ammunition stock pile. But if I had to guess, I would say I've shot something like 1500 rounds, but loaded probably 8 or 10 times that amount.

I shot nearly 7,000 big-bore revolver rounds down range this last year. A lot of heavy test sessions. I too keep a log.

Being new to this Forum I figured, this would be a good place for my first Posting. So hello to everyone from Austria :)

As I started shooting only a year ago, I did not make it to really high numbers. About 2,500 rounds went through my Glock 19, about 1,000 through my .357 lever action and 2-3,000 through my .22.
So that would sum up to about 5-6,500 rounds and every one was as fun as the one before!

What do you have to do in order to shoot a handgun in Australia? Do you possess it yourself at your home 24/7 and if so what is required for that?

It's actually Austria in the heart of Europe, not Australia ;)

Over here, for owning any type of semi automatic gun, I have to obtain a license first. Not a big deal actually, as you have a legal right for that license as long as you are no criminal, but quite costly. Any other type of firearm (generally speaking) is free to buy as long as you are over 18 and not a violent felon. You can keep them at your home 24/7 with as much ammunition as you want, as long it is stored safely (how exactly is not specified by law). If you own more than 20 guns or more than 5.000 rounds at a time, you have to notify the police though.

I really haven't a clue. Heck, I am hard pressed to venture a guess. This is like how many rounds I have shot in any specific gun. Some people can answer all of that, I haven't a clue. All I can say is my real love is outdoor rifle shooting before indoor handgun. Because warmer weather extended all the way into December up here in NE Ohio I enjoyed a longer than usual outdoor shooting season. I will venture I sent more high power rifle rounds down range than handgun. That's about it. :)

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Welcome to THR.

I shot 900-1000 in two gunfighting classes, and 31 rounds each week thru the year. After two mags I am warmed up and do not show much improvement. Total is around 2500 9MM with a few 22Magnum thrown in for testing. I don't have to be ankle deep in brass to see success.

23,682 give or take an additional 20 or so. Hard to keep track when all you have to work with is spent brass. 65% of this is handgun brass, the other 35% is rifle brass. Probably an aditional 6,000 shotgun in .410, 20 gauge, 16 gauge, and 12 gauge, but who counts shotgun shells? This is not to count an aditional 5K .22 Standard Velocity Rim Fire brass fired by my Jr NRA Small Bore rifle team.
