I met another THR'er, Matt Sutton last week in the SLC area. He indicated there's a good-sized contigent out there. I wouldn't mind getting to know some of you to do some shooting, trading, storytelling, etc. I sure don't want to clutter up this forum with a ton of responses, so if you want to list yourself and anyone else that you think wouldn't mind being listed. Thanks!

And of course, if you think I'm being too nosy, just give me a big :neener: and a string of :cuss: .

We have a very large contingent of Utahns on this board.

You probably would get a better response in GD or the Rallying Point forums.

Another lifelong Utahn here.

I'm hoping to meet all you guys soon, whether it be at the Utah get-together or elsewhere.

Sword of Ammon,
Ammon...the right to bear arms...one of the earliest accounts of disarmament and arms control. ;)

For those not familiar with the story, Ammon was on duty guarding the King's property.
Badguyss came to take the property and fought with Ammon.
Ammon, being armed with a sword lopped off the arms of the attackers.
The arms were carried in a sack and presented to the King by some people to show the king how badass Ammon was.

(removed images because it was silly)

I;m stuck in Utah too. Tryin to make the best of it, which includes meeting up with like-minded folk. I'd be interested in a get together whenever, shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Another one here. I'll be at the June 12th gathering, looking forward to meeting more THR members.

CrudeGT: Stuck in Utah? Come on man!!! Living here is great.('Course I'm pretty much a redneck, love the desert, and absolutely HATE big cities and liberal ideals).

The worst thing about this state is all the damned golf courses that keep cropping up near yuppie developments that are being built were I used to hunt and shoot.

I was born and raised here, plan on staying here. I just wish certain elements would quit moving in from out of state.

I give this state a lot of crap, I'm originally from Washington D.C. And I am a city kid, no much on for outdoors, so there's just not much here for me. But will say this state does have the nicest winters for snow sports and the nicest summers for outdoors stuff.

for the most part I'm happy here, and don't intend on leaving anytime soon.

But if i'm reading that right, we may be seeing eye to eye on those certain 'elements'...

The outdoors done right can't be beat, done wrong it's absolutely miserable.

I guess I can tolerate a D.C. escapee.:D That's better than a California reject any day of the week. :neener:

I saw your picture in the "what do shooters look like?" thread, and we're definately on oppisite ends of the spectrum there.

I'm happy to be called a 'DC escapee' anyday, more than likely, if I still lived there, I'd open my mouth on too many times and probably would be siz feet under right now.

And yeah, I don't blend in too well with the norm, but I hope that doesn't mean we can't get together and shoot sometime...

DC is a great place to either visit or be "from". I wouldn't want to live there. Richmond was close enough... no closer than Fredricksberg would be best.

You'll fit in alright. One of my best friends and fellow shooter sports an electric blue gottee and spiked blue hair.

I'd enjoy getting together and shooting. I usually shoot at The Shooting Academy in Lindon, it's about 25 minutes south of downtown SLC.

The next couple weeks my schedule sucks( as in 140 hours on the clock), maybe we can meet the middle of the month?

I;m stuck in Utah too.

I'm sorry for you! I spent 3 1/2 years there, and it was a wonderful place to live! Great place, great people.

Well, except for the Governor and his cronies, and that wacko mayor....

Lifetime Utahan...There is not a better place to live if you love being outdoors. Way too many places to explore and plink to ever visit in a lifetime. I also get involved in the occasional competition. www.udpl.net Don't be shy about introducing yourself, I'm the grouchy guy that never smiles, (it encourages people to talk to you) :D But really, I like fellow shooters.

I'm a transplant from Las Vegas (about 3.5 years now), and I like it here a lot. I only miss Las Vegas when I haven't been back there to visit in a little while. Every trip down there reaffirms to me why I'm not there anymore. Too hot, too big, too much like California for me. It's also nice to be able to pay for a gun and walk out the door with it the same day.

I've been a Utahn since 1993. I love it here.

I also shoot with UDPL. Didn't make the last one though. Another THR member won that one. We have a 3gun on the 15th if anybody is interested.

I really hope no one is taking offense to me saying "stuck in Utah." It's more of a joke among friends. I've lived long enough to learn to enjoy it, but it took me a while to understand the people. Coming from the east coast to utah was like moving from America to China, especially at age 11.

One of the things I hate about hate about my work schedule is that I work every saturday, so the UDPL is something I can only dream of. And I am unable to change my work schedule. So, I if anyone is up for shooting buring the week, let me know, I'll be in. And I've got about 700 rounds of 9mm reloads that I might need some help with...

Stuck on U
I’ve got this feeling down
Deep in my soul
That I just can’t lose
Guess, I’m on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess
I’ll be with U till the end
Guess I’m on my way
Mighty glad you stayed
I’m stuck on U
Been a fool too long I guess
It’s time for me to come on home
Guess I’m on my way
So hard to see
That a State like U could wait
Around for a man like me
Guess I’m on my way
Mighty glad you stayed
Oh, I’m leaving on that midnight train
And I know just where I’m going
I’ve packed up my troubles
And I’ve thrown them all away
Because this time little darlin’
I’m coming home to stay

I’m stuck on U
I’ve got this feeling down
Deep in my soul
That I just can’t lose
Guess, I’m on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess
I’ll be with U till the end
Guess I’m on my way
I’m mighty glad you stayed

George, I am concerned that you know Lionel Ritchie songs so well..Or at least I am concerned that you have in essence admitted it on a public forum!

Shameless self promotion on: Hey, since I have a trapped audience of Utahns, know anybody who needs to take their CCW class? I'm teaching one on the 29th of May. :)

Where at? What time? How much? I already have my permit, but I'd be willing to come up for a refresher if nothing else.

Might get a couple guys from work to come take the class. They've been saying they're going to get thier permits for a while now.
