How to make liberal politicians like guns

I think the gun industry needs to try a different approach to combatting gun control. The concept is to make liberals desire guns by marketing them as useful tools in the protection of their endeavors.

For instance, guns can protect you or deter overreach should a tyrannical government ever use force and try to take your marijuana or try to send illegal aliens back to their home countries or try to ban organic vegetables or try to quell riots and looting after a police shooting. What if you need to dispatch a fox trying to attacked your cage-free chickens? And shouldn’t liberals want employees to be armed with guns in case conservative mobs ever try to storm big tech companies or media. Why should the right to choose only apply to pregnancy?... shouldn’t we have a right to choose whether or not to pack heat? And what if a conservative speaker wants to come to your college... what better way to show that they are not welcomed than by blocking the auditorium with hippies armed with ARs and AKs? You can even use guns as a show of force in case any pesky conservatives desire to examine or inquire about voting machines after hundreds of thousands of votes magically appear for your candidate overnight in historically corrupt Democrat strongholds. Who knows, perhaps guns can even be used to fight the ‘Rona Virus and climate change?

By design, some of my examples are rather silly and cartoonish; I’m just trying to lighten what appears to be a bleak future for the 2A. Regardless, my point remains that I think guns are overly marketed toward conservatives and it creates a greater ostracism of the left and evokes even greater disdain from liberal politicians.

Guns need to be presented as tools that are useful for everyone. Just as I might use a hammer to build a box, someone else might use that some hammer to build a bird house. Similarly, just as I might use a gun to protect my family, a liberal might use that same gun to protect their marijuana plant. And yes, it’s also a reality of human nature that someone may use that hammer to murder someone just as someone else might use a gun. However, the utility of the hammer does not result in calls for its regulation and banning. The same should hold true for the gun.

What I find odd is that most liberals with whom I’ve interacted couldn’t care less about guns and gun control; they are more concerned with getting free handouts or fighting “systemic racism.”

Writing to politicians is good. Commenting on proposed ATF rule changes is good. I think that, at our level, we can also take friends (regardless of their political leanings) shooting (at least when ammo becomes more available/cheaper) and demonstrate the fun and utility in guns, hopefully prompting them to also write letters and comments. Make gun ownership and usage a non-partisan issue.

Not really a General Discussion topic, might see in the Activism mods might want it.

Also, it will probably bring in the Conservative vs. Liberal rant fest.

You can't. Politicians get marching orders from the party to get elected (I learned this at City Hall when I visited a politician and was present when a minor issue arose and an aide came in to announce it). Support their agenda or you won't get our (party) support and funding for your reelection. Politicians also have control files on them. This is blackmail material which can destroy a politician. That's how DC works. Even if a politician personally liked 2A, that politician will follow party orders.

Furthermore, there is only one party and like George Carlin said, "You're not in it." The faux two party system fosters the illusion of choice. Suggested reading (and it's a financial/legislative book is Nomi Prins' All The Presidents Bankers).
