I feel uneasy about Glock's safety

I'm not assuming, friend...you are.
I'm referring specifically to things (similar to some in this thread) that I've had people say to me, like:

"Well, I've never fired a Glock, but aren't they the ones that go Kb?"
"Yeah, it's plastic, so it must be junk."
"That gun has no safeties."
"I've heard..."
"Oh, I saw this thing on the internet..."

By the way, I'm not a "Glockaphile"....
I have no brand loyalty, if my Glock didn't work the way I need it to, I'd switch to someting else in a second. You'll never get me to let my S&W go, either. :)

People with lots of experience with different handguns do not write stupid BS that is clearly WRONG.

I can tell who has this experience and who is the poser.

where is all the love? :)

like others said i second the "if you are uncomfortable, don't use it"

but i have been investigating the manual saftey after market part... I have been kind of leary about considering a glock for my first CCW, but if those manual safeties are reliable, then maybe you should think about one of them. (i certainly am!)

Bobby Lee, as always, has to resort to personal attack.

I merely posted that those who continously criticize and insult cops for being so poorly trained, are incorrect if they think the average gun owner is better off. And those who are so sure they would never make any of the same mistakes, yet have never been there, are the legends in their own minds.

I felt uneasy about one in the pipe.

When I first started carrying my Glock, I was concerned. My holster, a K1 by FIST covers the trigger completely. Once I shot the Glock for a while I began to feel more confident in keeping one in the pipe.

In a SHTF situtation, I don't what to have something that works like my trusty wheelgun. The Glock does that.

Remember, the most reliable safety is between your ears. Keep your finger off the trigger.

Boss Spearman said -Well, I train and shoot alot, and I'll take a Glock over a 1911 any day.
In fact I recently got rid of a 1911 I had to go back to Glock. I've found no semi auto on the market more reliable.

Boss - hence the qualifiers of "most" & "truly".

I like Glocks a lot, and they usually are reliable - but the attitude that they are all things to all people that many people put forth what are not qulaified to do so bothers me.

Some people may not be qualified to have an opinion about anything but just in case you are not aware not all Glock owners are the inexperienced kool aid drinkers some make us out to be.

There are many Glock owners that became loyal to the Glock because their vast experience with ALL gun designs have led them to believe the Glock works best for them.

Some Glock "fanatics" became that way because they have shot them for years without a single malfunction and they have never had any problems.

When some idiot comes along trying to make them believe thay have a mental problem because they trust their lives to a weapon that has proved itself to be 100% reliable over years of testing then the Glock "fanatic" truely believes he is not the one with the mental problem.

Personaly I don't care what anyone carries as long as the gun is safe and not capable of firing without a trigger pull and it's owner has enough experience to handle it safely.
