For some reason I've got a bug for the Beretta M9. I love my 226, closest thing I've owned to a Beretta I guess. Will I like the Beretta?

I had a Beretta first, and I just got a 226. They're balanced differently, but the triggers are about the same. Right now I like the Beretta better, but I've been shooting it for years and I've had the Sig only a couple months. So to answer your question...yes.

If you do get a Beretta, I'd recommend the Wolff trigger conversion.

I love my Beretta than the Sig. I bought couple of sigs, Sig is overpriced and overrated.
The Beretta is more beautiful, and chicks dig it!

Me personally, I can't hit a thing with a Beretta, and can't seem to miss with my Sig P226. While some shooters think they are very similar, I think they're worlds apart. P226 with the decocker is likely the worlds best pistol. I can't get used to that upside-down Beretta safety. Who's had the brilliant idea to flip a safety up? Seems like the wrong direction to me and safeties don't belong on a slide, they get in the way.

So...will you like the Beretta? Nope. Buy another Sig instead.

I could never warm up to the Berreta

Shot the M9 for years, it was ok but nothing special. The 226 and the 229 seems to feel a lot nicer in my hand. I'm not sure that the Sigs are overpriced but I do think for the money you spend on one the controls, trigger and anything else your hands come into contact with should not corrode overnight. I was very disappointed with the 229DAK the Coast Guard uses. We took them out for a fam fire and locked them up without cleaning them. The next morning there was surface rust on everything but the slides. This happened on a sunny warm day and the only reason the guns were't cleaned is that we wanted to see if there would be any problems with them jamming when dirty.

I had a Beretta 92 G Elite II before I had my Sigs. Very nice pistols for sure. I had one failure to feed in the entire time I owned it, and the accuracy was OK.
I prefer the the way Sigs are built, their triggers and their accuracy, but Berettas are good looking and feel great in the hand.

I've got an Italian 92F, and recently bought a Sig 228, close enough to the 226. Both are way more accurate than I am, but the 92F is more lefty friendly than just about any DA/SA sig....

Well, hard to say. I have both and really like them...kinda equally. I like different things about each. If you don't like a manual safety, then the Beretta might bug you. I tend to prefer the decocker of the Sig over the Beretta manual safety, but both serve my needs. Both SA triggers are fine, but my 226 has a better DA. But then, the Italian, she is sooooo purty...

No, not compared to the P226---now if you had never tried the SIG you would probably like the Beretta.

I don't know. I like the 226 okay ( I love the 228- best 9mm DA/SA platform ever, IMO!) and the Beretta is dead sexy. Still, the controls on the slide really bother me. I think they get in the way during aggressive manipulations and drills involving gross motor skills and stuff. Also, the big opening just begs to bite your hand if you rack the slide "over the top" with your weak hand.

Most of my buddies with 92f type guns shoot them pretty well, though.

If you've already got a 226, maybe you should add a Beretta? Or, get a 228!

They're both quality guns. I shoot my Beretta better. But...my Beretta is 9MM while the 226 is 40 S&W. Maybe that has something to do with it, less recoil & all.

I think they're very similar: Large frame, dbl stack mags, traditional DA/SA, quality manufacturers, and large military/LE following.

I think if you like one, you'd probably like the other, maybe even better. Instead of buying another SIG, why not try the Beretta? Especially since they're cheaper!
