The Minigun in Predator has some issues.

First, if you look behind Jesse, you'll see the power cable from the battery.

Second, the recoil is such that even with blanks it's hard to control. The actual fire used was about 6 rounds, after which special effects were used.

I can't speak for T2, but I'd imagine the same is true.

That's straight from the technical advisor for Predator, btw.

Janes Weapon Systems (1984) rated them at 10,000 RPM
It would be a wasteful setup under any circumstance but particularly in this scenario, given the necessity of head shots. You'd just have chunks of zombies after you. Controlled, aimed semi-automatic rifle fire is the cure for this issue. Aimed for the above stated reason and semi-auto because fast follow-up shots may be required.

Not of course that I would support such violent behavior against our downtrodden re-animated American brothers and sisters.

Of course, those Uzbekistani zombies are a whole 'nuther thing.
They need to be wiped out!:cuss:

Keeping that gun loaded is still a major issue, especially for a supposedly man-portable weapon.
But this just illustrates our phobia.
Arms should be for hugging not killing zombies
We should embrace the horror:)
 
Most anything by Wagner at very high volume makes an excellent accompanyment to raining descruction upon the masses. Something about Germanic classical - it's just seems to say "A lot of people are dying, let's make some music to go with it."

Those of us who are comfortable in our un-undeadness can rise above the fear and loathing to lead our brothers and sisters into a new age of enlightenment where undead and un-undead can can walk (or shamble) hand in hand into a bright new future.

If at all possible(and it ain't), I would take an M249 with a red dot sight, backed up by an AR-15 pistol, backed up by a Glock 19/23:D ! "You undead Bastards say hello to my little friends!!!!:evil: "

In reality I would have to use my M4gery(scoped), the AR-pistol(with dot and light), and the Glock 23. Mag and parts compatibility between the two AR's couldn't hurt, and .40 S&W cartridge might be something you could scrounge:eek: !

I don't care how fast they are, they don't move at 2800fps:p !

If there was a ,"Zombie Shoot House"(trademarked idea of Still 2 Many Choices!? so don't steal it:fire::cuss:! ), where you could shoot pop up zombies in a 3 dimensional mock up of a town, YOU KNOW YOU WOULD BE THERE EVERY WEEK:evil:! I know I would:eek: ... 30 bucks for each trip through, all pistol calibers accpetable, with a .308 rifle limit for the in town shoot... Don't worry, we'll have a 400 yard pop up outdoor range for your ,"mangnum thumpers", with pop up pumkin headed zombies for your head exploding pleasure;) . Scores kept and based on tactical efficiency(# of rounds per popped head), speed(if you popped him before he would have had time to bite you), and bonus points for long killing streaks(# of consecutive head shots):cool: !!!! Peripheral hits do count to slow the zombies down but only the head shots will put them down....Oh yeah, now that's my idea of a fun Saturday:neener: !!

Still 2 Many Choices!?(Just give me 6-8 months to get this going)
 
Best pistol round: .45 AUTO in a 1911-A1
Best rifle round: 7.62x39mm in a AK-47
Best shotgun round: 12 ga 2 3/4 00 Buck in a Mossberg 590

I would also have a couple frag grenades and a Ka-Bar combat knife.:cool:

And now that the Democrats have the house and senate we have more than an even chance for zombie rights legislation.

Let's see... the Constitution recognizes living peoples' right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It doesn't say anything about the right to un-life.

If the undead have the right to try and eat my brain, I have the right to blow their brains out.:cool:
 
I will equip my zombie-killing pirates with AK-47 clones in the 7.62x39 round, as well as give a few marksmen the CZ bolt action 7.62x39 carbine with a good scope. It's a perfect combo.
 
Speaking of Zombie's, I am almost finished with the book "World War Z" and I highly recommend it. It is not only a good read but pretty decent commentary on the world in which we live and what may happen in case of a major SHTF situation, even something other than Zombies.
 
as for the zombies, I'm thinking a truck mounted quad .50 cal with a trailer full of ammo.... portable and fun....
or a 20mm phalanx monted on the roof calibrated for zombies.... no muss, no fuss, they would never get within a thousand yards of the house... just the occasional BBBBRRRRRAAAAAAAAPPPPPP as it lit into them... kinda like a bug zapper...
 
When, oh, When are we here at THR going to take the plunge and invent Zombie Action Shooting? Headshots only, no caliber handicaps for anything over .22 LR, and popup targets from classic Romero movies? We'll probably need an abandoned shopping mall for the first event...

That sounds like fun Logan5 :evil:

I would use my m44 mosin for long range and a 1911 for up, and maybe a S&W sigma for a backup. :) And if any zombies get close while I have my mosin out I can always use the bayonette :evil:
