I only own Revolvers

I diversified about a month ago...As someone that has always bought and used revolvers for hunting and used as home defense too which worked fine for years. I went to the gun store and picked up th LCP to look at it. It was so handy I bought it. Than 2 weeks later I bought a 40 cal... I did it for the extra capacity of firepower really... Most people had me out gunned in that department. I kinda like the semi's for that...

I think you should own and enjoy what appeals to you, forget what others think you 'should' own. Revolvers are what appeal to me. While I do own some semi-autos, they are vastly outnumbered by sixguns. Mostly single actions. Nearly three dozen at last count to only a handful of automatics.

Meh. I own em both. Nobody said you have to enjoy just one kind of gun.

That said, it was only just the other day that, doing a mental checklist of guns, I realized I have more revolvers than autos. But I'm fairly certain I haven't bought my last Colt pistol yet. :)

I own some of each...I think the Revolvers might be outpacing the semi-autos by one or two (which obviously means I need to purchase more..)

I too have older S&W revolvers, one in .38 special and one in .45 ACP. There is just something about that non-tuned crisp single and double action drop of the hammer when the trigger is squeezed that just does not seem to occur in the semi-autos I have owned and shot.

really guys, I am not trying to invent a reason not to, I just am not fond of semi autos. And you can't blame a guy for bringing up something that actually legitimately has happened to him. I just figured if it happened to me with my limited experience with semi's, and had heard it from someone else as well, it would have happened to more of you. I submit I must be wrong about that. In any case I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion, and at the very least I learned something. Thanks.

I have owned semi auto pistols. I even sort of liked all of them, from the beater Ruger .22 to the Colt Gold Cup. Especially the Gold Cup, wish I still had it. But once I aquired a S&W revolver, auto's got no love from me. Reloading no longer meant scratching around in the dirt for my empties, or worrying about feeding issues. The Gold Cup went, for a Model 25-5. The Walther PPKs went. A .38 Airweight replaced it. Then I traded a Ruger .22 semi for a Super Single Six. The better triggers, usually better sights and ergonomics of revolvers just work for me. The fact that I can load .44's and .45's to levels not practical with reasonably available autos is just icing on the cake. I do not own revolvers with locks.

Wow, I feel like I'm home! I have tried to get into semis and settled on a Sig Pro 40 cal. Reloaded quite a bit of ammo. Shoots great and I have no trouble with reliability. Also have a 1911. Fun to shoot and dependable. But I just traded my last 22 autoloader for a Colt Police positive 38 special. I have several smiths and a couple Taurus, and a High Standard 22 snubbie revolvers and my black powder single actions. I just love the wheel guns. A special look, feel and sound. If I can have just one, let it have a cylinder!

I like both, but revolvers appeal to me more. However, unlike a lot of folks, I generally only carry semiautos.

Didn't even own a revolver until just shortly after I joined this forum. Now I spend more time at the range with them than anything else. They're much more fun to reload for and its kind of cool to be the only person at the range shooting one. Can't wait till the kids get older and I can and get into SASS and have some Cowboy fun.

My wife has a Walther P22 and a Seecamp .32 - they are her firearms. I have S&W revolvers, having traded away my AMT .45 ACP DAOs 7+ yr ago - and my last 'real' mainline rude case-tossing/evil-bottom-feeder, a G21, left twelve years ago this summer. Fitted with +2 mag extenders, it would hold 15 .45 ACPs - and was the most boring gun I ever owned. Accurate/infallible - but boring. I had 'discovered' round guns - and a .45 convertible Blackhawk was bought to use up my .45 ball ammo stash.

I started, as said, with Ruger SAs - had to 'try' that.45 Colt cylinder in that first Ruger. .45 Colt was my 'new' favorite round. My first DA would be an early 7.5" .454 SRH, as it would also shoot .45 Colts. My first S&W, a new .45 Colt 625MG, arrived 9/02 - and a new awakening occured. Now all S&W revolvers, and a few 1895 Nagants, nirvana - for me - has been reached reached. YMMV.

I buy what I want (... and can afford!) from the S&W line - and I have many that include the IL - not a problem for me. I make my ammo - mostly a bit wimpy - but fun, nonetheless. The final hanger-on from the feed-it's-own-self world finally left 9/08 - a Ruger MKII KMK-678GC - to fund a long overdue 617 purchase. That was long past it's time - I hadn't used the MKII in years - and I cannot stop using the 617! Again, YMMV - but you must like revolvers, else, why are you here in a revolver forum??

Altho revolvers have always been my favorite, I have bottom feeders also. My criteria is my handguns must be steel. Tupperware is for food storage.

That said, I respect anyone's choice for their own handguns. One of the things that makes the shooting sports so interesting is the variety of tools available. Like our home, our cars and our motorcycles, our guns are a canvas on which we paint our personality. Thank goodness the pictures we paint are all different, or what a boring place this world would be.

I always get a kick outta the magazine spring debate. Altho it is a subject that should die, I doubt it ever will....much like the IL debate. BTW a car sitting empty for long periods of time is not compressing the springs like having a magazine fully loaded. The springs of the empty car basically are not compressed at all due to their design. A better analogy would be to have the trunk of the car full of concrete and fully compressing the springs. Sorry, couldn't help but to add fuel to the fire......:D

My wife had a CZ-75B for some years. I bought it new for her after she tried everything - FN, Glock, Beretta, Browning, P99, etc - she loved the CZ-75. I liked it, too. Heck, she even let me shoot it some - Blazers were $3.99/50 at Academy then. She sold it 4 yr ago - I fixed her a 3" 65 up - she liked my 2" 10 better, so that is her 'house gun'.

If I were to break my 'say no to rude case-tossing bottom-feeders' edict, it would be either for a CZ-75 or an M&P 9mm Pro... but don't hold your breath. I loves my roundguns!

I've owned far more revolvers than autos. Except for 3 Colts (Officer's Model Match .38, Trooper MkIII .357 and a .38 Diamondback), all of my revolvers have been Smith & Wessons. Right now, I own a few 'Smith's, (2 J-frames and a K-frame) and one semi-auto which is a Sig P-226 in 9mm. The Sig's an ex-LE trade-in and that's why I like it so much. If only it could tell stories.
