I must admit that after the 20th thread on the Taurus Judge or which is better, the 38/.357, or see my new Rossi, I'd gotten to the point where I thought logging on here was a waste of my time, being a seasoned shooter/LEO, but as I stepped back and reasoned a bit my thinking changed. I remembered that there was a new generation taking their 2nd Amendment rights seriously, along with their family's personal safety, and it's my responsibility to pass on knowledge and wisdom (including my bad choices) to them. I realized that I should be honored that they're even asking questions and seeking wisdom to better themselves, and in an honest confession, when I made my first 1911 purchase a few months ago, the advice I got here far surpassed anything I got on the LEO board I frequent. With tail tucked and head in hand, I offer my humble apology. ;)

Yep, the board isn't simply here for seasoned shooters' entertainment. 400 "which AR?" threads is a good thing for all of us in the long run. Thanks for sharing your insight, very 'high road' of you. We all have these moments, good to see the proper reaction here.

And you never know, sometimes there does come along a neat or novel new thread.

While I have become a bit jaded by the repetitive irrelevance that frequents this forum, I admit that some of the most knowledgeable people I've ever encountered come here to discuss firearms. My lack of knowledge is often cured at THR.

It's good to have you here.

Ditto that Sentiment. Having known Stephen Camp through this Board, as well as people like 1911Tuner and the rest I have come back to the board with a different sentiment.
For those who don't know I was once known as MDig here. I have no idea what old email account I registered under and lost access to that account, so created a new one.

Ben, I agree with the knowledgeable people on here....

Also, remember... what is irrelevant to you may be very relevent to the poster.....

We had this discussion at the range yesterday. A couple of new members came, and while they were being safe they were certainly shooting faster than any of us do from a bench. One member made a comment under her breath about how they were just "throwing" lead down range and another member expressed his gratutude that they were there, buying guns and exercising their 2nd amendment rights.

There are 99 reasons why bringing new people into the gun fold is good and only 1 reason it is bad - 'might make ammo more expensive for the rest of us. :)
