I wonder what the most expensive gun club is in the US? Mine is $600/year but that's peanuts compared to others I suspect?

$600/year is a steal for my family and I. The club has archery, shotgun, high power rifle, smallbore rifle, 3-gun, pistol, action pistol, black powder, cowboy action and silhouette ranges along with a lodge, coffee shop, pro shop/FFL and a gym/fitness room (which is worth more than $50/month by itself.) Sadly no bar.

With a gym and coffee bar I'd consider your club a mite more than just a "shooting club". But of course that's just me, and at $600 a year it might be a steal for you but I prefer to keep some things separate.

I get all you have less the coffee bar, gym and archery for $280 per year and I have after hours privileges plus shoot at no cost on all pistol and rifle ranges since I contributed a goodly sum in 1990 to get them constructed. That's a steal to me and my family who have the same privileges I do.

I'd imagine when you get into Bill Gates and Jeff Zukerberg's earnings range their clubs might be wildly more expensive. But then I'd allow they aren't pure shooting clubs either.

Frisco Gun Club, VIP - $7500 one time + $200.00 per month........ HA! Indoor only, up to 100 yard rifle.

That sounds pretty cool Aragon. A lot fancier than anywhere in my state.
I can shoot out the back door to 100 yards and, if I make a pot, there's coffee on the counter of the kitchen. I also have an archery range set up, both FITA and 3D. Not fancy but it is convenient... :)

Private shotgun clubs can have initiation fees in 5 figures and annual dues as high or higher

S. FL Gun Club:

Family Platinum Membership: $11,000

Includes husband & wife / partners and two children under the age of 21

Access to all SFSC grounds, all amenities and private clubhouse

Priority registration for all tournaments

Includes all clays for daily shooting

Includes all golf cart rentals

20% discount on tournament targets

Discounts on club clothing & gunsmith services

That's per YEAR. If you want a family lifetime membership (good for 25 years) it is $100,000, which is what an exclusive golf club would cost.

I pay $20 a year and it serves it's purpose quite nicely. yes it gets cold in the winter but I can always take a heater break.

I should add that I can go to the range during the week and not have worry about anybody showing up except to wave to the farmers as they drive by

Who knows but I try to avoid them like the plague. And it's not easy where I live.
There is one public range and it's indoors and over 40 miles from me. I simply can't join these clubs around me with there 200 page rule books, and then expect me to pay for the privilege to do some work for them.

No Sir ! I'll drive that 40 odd miles one way and pay my monies.

Back in the day, many well known companies maintained extremely nice gun ranges -- some you could even hunt at.

Firms like Remington, Griffin & Howe, Orvis, Ambercrobie & Fitch (imagine that!) and others maintained "farms." I suspect some still do today? I wish there were more of them.

Yeah, that's true. The best thing about it is that the whole family can spend the day there and really enjoy themselves. I can shoot in an IDPA match, picnic with the family and then grab a workout and a shower while my daughter and wife are shooting skeet and our boys are plinking the day away.

I pay half of what newer members pay. One of the tensions at the club is that newer members want to add more amenities (pools, bar, etc.) which would drive the cost up. It won't happen unless they fully shoulder the new costs themselves.

FWIW, nearby BLM is "free" to shoot at...

That's quite a bit for a gun club. Not so much for a country club. Augusta, Los Angeles Country Club, Riviera, the Olympic Club and several others would be several times that number. Still, a lot for a gun club.

But you get the members only lounge.. That makes the 7500 up front fee a little bit easier to swallow..yeah nothing like a members only lounge
Whoa, that IS getting up there!

Makes that $500 per weekend backhoe rental look pretty inexpensive for a backyard excavation project!

I know of one location that includes a gun club. The location requires $100,000 or so for an initiation fee just to buy property (you must own property to join). Annual fees are around $20,000 or so, but it's used for all parts (golf, riding, etc).

I pay $1,000/year for my 300 yard range...

But, it also includes 9,000 acres of private hunting land and a club house.

I don't pay anything. We have 226 acres that back up to the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Well, I can always shoot my pellet gun in the basement for free.

The problem with the high end places is you probably have to also dress accordingly. Forget jeans, Ralph Lauren shooting outfits are no doubt de rigueur.
