So I think you should consider a Ruger single action .45 Colt. Blackhawk with adjustable sights, unless you are interested in cowboy action shooting.

Yes, but did he write this before or after the .44 Magnum was introduced? I think he wrote this when the existing straight-wall big-bore sixgun choices were .44 Special and .45 Colt. My books are mostly boxed-up in off-site rented storage, to keep my wife from taking them to a resale shop, so I cannot readily look this up to be sure.
