If you were hired as a Contractor...

I don't think you understand the laws of physics...

Have these people ever heard of Newtons Laws.

To push an 18 pound melon, from rest back 20 inches would mean that a 180 pound shooters entire body will be shoved back at least 2 inches
.

A human body doesn't behave as a rigid object and if it did, firing a shot on a frictionless surface, could very possibly produce a 2" movement in the opposite direction of the bullet, for a 180lb. subject. The equations are pretty simple, let me see if I can remember them,... yes it is m1*v1=m2*v2. M=mass, V=Velocity, 1 for the bullet mass and velocity, and 2 for the shooter mass, and velocity to be solved for.

This equation would yeild the recoil velocity of the shooter, given that the 'shooter' behave like a solid rigid object. The movement of the shooter and the bullet would be indefinite, if friction was excluded, but alas, we live in the real world, and 2" doesn't seem like a stretch to me.

Any bullet from a .308 that expanded so fiercely inside of a watermellon as to not punch through it but move inches back.. has my full respect.

Simple........... TAKE NOTHING other than a bag of AK furniture and an extra $100 bill when ya get there BUY a REAL AK rather than a semi auto only USA neutered version then add the custom furniture in about 10 minutes, myself that would be Bulgarian plastic for the front end, an M-4 stock adapter for the rear end and then add a USGI M4 stock ergo pistol grip and call it done, Sidearm S&W M66, yep a wheel gun the M66 is lighter than a 686 the .357 will hit much harder even if the opposition is wearing body armor and if ya have to transition to the sidearm then the latest greatest Auto isn't going to matter anyhow ya will only be getting off a very limited number of shots before ya are blown to h### by cArbine fire from the opposition anyhow........ the .357 will be more controllable than a 10 mm and hit harder which at least might knock the wind outa an armor wearing target long enough to close in for a head shot.....

Gee... Most of these armchair warriors have no idea what a security contractor does over in the Land Of Bad Things.

The mission is the PROTECT the person or group you are assigned. You will not be getting into long drawn out fire fights (if at all possible) and you won't be walking about in public trying to blend in.

You will be in a vehicle convoy or on foot moving with your principle to provide security. Blending in is NOT an option (this isn't "The Unit"). ;)

If something goes boom near you, your First Mission is to PROTECT YOUR PRINCIPLE. That means getting youself and the people you are protecting the heck out of there has fast as possible. If under direct attack you want to return fire with as much firepower as humanly possible to break contact.

Some use something similar to an AKM to throw lead fast and hard. Others like the M4 series to pepper any attackers while you evact the area.

Use what works.

Going covert is sometimes an option, depending on the mission; not every drive involves a live package.

Long firefights are rare, but they do happen - carry enough ammo.

for overall, i'd go with an AK with 1913 rails on the top and bottom of handguard. Aimpoint M2 and a vert fore-grip. M4-style stock, SAW grip.

for vehicle/convoy stuff, i'd go with something similar to the Navy's MK18MOD0 carbine, same set up as far as optics go.

1911 for sidearm, glock g26 for bug.
