Illinois Bill HB4544

Wish us luck. The powers that be in Springfield are going to get a rude awakening when they realize that we are tired of being told to be victims. Do a google search for Pro 2nd Amendment Resolutions by County in IL and you will see something interesting happening at the county level. Just goes to show how much our elected officials are out of touch with reality.

SundownRider I don't think Springfield is the problem. It is Chitcago!

I 100% support the county by county action to support the 2nd Amendment and this needs more press.

Come on guys it is IL you are talking about. THere are so many politicians being investigated one wonders if they are just trying to keep safe working conditions for other criminals. OR maybe the criminal lobby outspent the NRA and got the pols to keep the streets safe for bad guys.

I just sent the following message of support to my representative Timothy Schmitz:

I'm sending you this email to express my support for the so called FAMILY&PERSONAL PROTECTION ACT. As a resident of the 49th district and the State of Illinois, I feel that we citizens should be allowed to carry a self defense weapon as is allowed in 48 other states in this country. It is high time we are allowed to defend ourselves and our families and not have to rely on chance and over burdened police departments. Please consider supporting this bill. Thank you.

He is my Rep from Peoria. He seems like a good enough guy but definitely an ambition guy who has planned a life of politics from a young age. He just won a primary to run as a replacement for Lahood in the U.S. House. Any of you guys going to iGold? If not, you should take some time and head to Springfield...

A step in the right direction but it won't happen for a long time. The Gov will veto it instantly if it even makes it that far. And imagine the limitations the bill would have if passed.

Reply from Rep. Schmitz

A very positive response from my Rep.

I suspect a downstate Democrat in the governor's mansion is what would do the trick. Blago is in hot water with a lot of his fellow Democrats, plus he is under investigation by the feds. If they can finish up and indict him before Obama takes over and quashes the investigation, you just never know what could happen in the ensuing free-for-all.

IlBob, what is "funny" is that the county that Springfield Armory is in voted for BolwJ-bBiTc- and also for obama in the primary. Since SA is the biggest employer in the area you just gotta wonder. There is a guy that I USED to hunt with. He lives down the block. Owns lotsa guns. Voted for Blago and Onbama. When I asked why he said I like their Ideas. What about your guns I asked. He said I never looked at that. I just want the Open Road Tolling, and Obama will cut the cost of health care:banghead:. This is a good representation of the typical IL voter. Brain dead which I guess equates to being a ZOMBIE. All you Zombie hunters come to IL they have taken over.

I was born and raised in southern IL, though I moved across the river as soon as I developed an interest in firearms, as we all know IL gun laws just suck.

I'm very happy to see this going on, I will pass word of it to what family I still have in IL. I will hope and pray this goes well.
