In december I ordered a kel-tec sub 2000 from a local gun store. They had no time frame for delivery. I had to put $170ish down for it for them to order it. They said its up to Kel-Tec as to how fast it will get here.

ITS STILL NOT HERE AND THERE IS STILL NO TIME FRAME. :(

So I emailed Kel_Tec customer service nicely asking when the Sub 2ks would be once again on the assembly line, NO RESPONSE :uhoh:

I really think its a neat gun, "a great one to sneak in before the AW ban BS" but i am not willing to wait a year for it.

My question, should I tell them to cancel my order and buy a 28 inch Benelli nova instead? (and take it home with me that day) I would like this for duck hunting and I would put a +5 mag extension on it for HD use.

You would have been better off ordering from a Florida gun store who has them in stock. Florida stores especially ones near Kel-Tec have priority on receiving their orders from them when a new batch is run.

I voted no, but don't care if you get the benelli or order another kel tec from someone who has it in stock.

If you need to design a poll to figure out whether you want to buy a gun or not, you need help far beyond what the members of THR can supply, my friend. :) The poll alone should be ample evidence for you to move on, already, and find something that you truly want.

Those are apples and oranges. I'd say get both in a normal market if money weren't an issue. These days you are better off putting your money into tangible deliverables rather than promises. If you can't find a reliable source that's too bad for you and Keltec.

FWIW I have 2 Sub-2000s and they are a favorite in a vast collection that includes every category other than DDs and belt feds. I'm constantly amazed that some pipes and a spring wrapped in cheap plastic could shoot so well and reliably.

I wouldn't wait that long. I'd order one and have it shipped in.

The Benelli wouldn't matter either way.

I can only tell one my one limited experience with this gun: buddy had one. Iron sights were way off. Even with the irons fully adjusted as far as they would go, it was still hitting about 4" left at 15 or 20 yards. Before adjustment, it was well over 1 foot left. Needless to say, he dumped it. If you're going to use a scope/optic, however, I'd guess it should be fine.
