In the market for a GOOD semi-auto .22

There are the Target models of the 10/22. I have never shot one but I am going to make one my next 22 rifle.

I like the looks and have heard good things of the TC 22 clasic. I have heard mixed reviews on the Rem 597.

I would go with the TC myself. They have a nice weight barrel and the fit and finish on the ones I have looked at is top rate.

Well, I have never seen a 10/22 I would pay $500 for, this one is no exception. I have nothing against them, my money simply serves me better elsewhere.

I'm right there with you.

The 10/22 makes a great little utility/plinking rifle if left as-is (or with fiber sights so you can see them better). Even then, Ruger's charging too much for them these days. But I'm not into throwing money at the thing.

If I want a simple, accurate semi, the Marlin 60 will shoot better for cheaper.

If I want a fun-as-hell, accurate gun, give me a 39A.

If I want real serious accuracy, the price of a built 10/22 will buy me a real, serious bolt action that will consistently shoot dimes at 100 yards, and will be a lot easier to clean -- from the breech, the only way to clean a super-accurate gun.

Well this may be true how many people get a stock 10/22 and sink hundreds of dollars in them...this is basically the same thing just it's already done
