In this week's installment of Gunsmiths on Meth, behold the tactical Schofield

It needs a comp mounted on the barrel... vented DOWN to hold the muzzle up. Bet that thing is nose-heavy...

Meh. I've seen some mauled up firearms... some from use, some from neglect, some from Bubba... I'm not appalled by it. As far as the OP, it looks well executed, and I'll say no small amount of work went into it. At the end of the day, this is America, it's your firearm, and you can treat it like you want.

The funny thing is, I'm not 100% opposed to a modernization of the platform. I don't want to own one but it'd be interesting. It's the way they went about it. As if the goal was to make it impractical and stupid looking. With some ingenuity and real gunsmithing, they could've cut it for moon clips, mounted a red dot and some other attachments. Might still look stupid but at least it could be functional.

Never mind, it's just dumb no matter how you look at it.

don’t forgot Leather & Wood!

Is the Tactical Schofield dumb because of the work done on it or because the work was done on a Schofield ?
It reminds my of the Korth and doesn't S&W make a revolver with a built in rail. People like them.

Holy Steampunk/Western SciFi gone wrong, Batman! Do we think something horrible happened to the barrel and this was the Joker’s attempt to “fix” it?

On a slightly serious note, if this wasn’t a drug-fueled or Joker-themed endeavor, and the aim was in fact a “tactical” break-top, would case hardened coloring and mother of pearl be part of the picture? Obviously, it’s not to my taste, but for those who think a tactical Schofield should be a thing, does the lack of a completed theme, the inconsistency in the “work” done, not indicate a haphazardness at the very least?

I own two Uberti Schofields and really like them, in large part due to their aesthetics. This thing makes for the worst of both worlds indeed.

I'll see your Schofield and raise you a tactigant.

Now THAT makes sense, actually. The only quiet, suppress-able revolver. Can and ammo included. Love it.

To sweeten the inherent silliness of this deal, included with purchase is 2 complete spam cans and one opened but nearly complete spam can of ammunition, all surplus ammunition. That's about enough ammo to give yourself carpal tunnel a couple times over and still have enough left over to pass onto your kids.
🤣

The rail is at least twice as big as it should. If you could shrink the rail to so that it more closely match's the dimensions of the barrel it would still be absurd but wouldn't look quite as ridiculous.

Oh, I don’t know, perhaps if you Cerakoted the frame and barrel copper, the cylinder jet black, tossed the boxy red dot and mounted a silver Burris 2x20 pistol scope on it and changed those grip panels to a red and black G10 material with some nice checkering I think it would look pretty cool.

Yeah, No! 🤣

I do have a 1917 Luger ! HUMMMM ideas here

I really do think it's an interesting idea (what would have happened if certain things were designed/developed today?) but I hope you're joking and wouldn't alter a genuine piece of history.

That being said, If a suitable reproduction were available (much like the Uberti example in the OP *edit* or your interpretation of what you imagined a "modern" lever action rifle should be) I'd love to see what could be done to a 100+ year old design!

Look at some 1911 designs? Redesigns?

I agree and whoever did the Luger definitely brought it into the modern realm with some legitimate and innovative ideas.

While I personally find the revolver in the OP awful, IMO, the concepts are "do-able" and my sense of curiosity encourages it.

They Should bring back the toggle action! Hopefully the days of “Go Fast As Possible” are fading and more interesting and artful designs come out!

here an idea, Red Rider BB Gun that shot .22’s or 9mm!
