I'm considering buying a (current production) Remington 572 and I'd appreciate some input on this .22 pump action rifle. Specifically, how is the current model in terms of fit/finish/quality of construction, accuracy, trigger, and reliability? How difficult is it to breakdown and clean? Also, is the receiver aluminum or steel? Finally, other than Remington's 572 and Taurus' M62, does anyone else currently produce pump-action .22s? Thanks.

Overall quality is comparable to 572 pump rifles produced in any other generation.
I don't care for the current 'monte carlo' hump on the comb of the stock and the trigger lock safety buttons are cheesy.
Receivers are still steel.
The rifles are not terribly hard to diassemble for cleaning buty you will need to follow the manual carefully the first few times.
The rifles diassemble similar to pump shotguns so if you have worked these before you won't have any problems.

These rifles are still accurate and handy but a bit overpriced on a market awash in cheaper .22 rifles.
Still a great buy if you like higher quality rifles, take care of it and it will outlast you.
