I've done my homework on THR searching for info on Remington 572 pump .22 rifles.
There are surprisingly few posts that mention this piece. The few that do are favorable.
I took a risk and bought an old, old Remington 121 at a gun show. Great price, thought it just needed new springs and a new firing pin. Mistake. But I still want a pump gun.
I don't want another used rifle, baby boomers pay a lot for the old gallery guns in good shape. For the price of a used Winchester at a gun show, you can get a new Remington 572. If you can find one.
My questions are:
1. What do you think of the Remington 572? Current model is 21" barrel - how handy & well balanced is it?
2. How accurate is it?
3. How reliable is it?
4. How easy is it to take down & maintain? Can you easily clean it from the breach?
5. Is it finicky about ammo or does it digest just about anything?
Thanks for the help 'cause I got the itch to buy one.
