When you lie to a person with the intent to induce them to do or refrain from doing an action, the person reasonably relies on your lies and your lies damage that person, you are liable for damages for the intentional tort of misrepresentation. The questions here are the nature and extent of damage and whether any waivers which Jim may have signed would hold up. And my bet is they did have him sign waivers, even if he didn't know about it.
Damages are tricky, since the whole thing is portrayed as a spoof. But in most states you can obtain damages for emotional distress arising from an intentional tort.
So I say, get ahold of an attorney in-state and sue the creatures. Even if you don't win, you may keep the episode from airing.
EDIT: Looks like you did! Good for you.
