Congrats! Looks beautiful. No one had one locally, so I found a Grade 1 on GB for less than I could get one here. After the cursed ten days, I picked it up Fathers Day morning
I hate it when that happens. Tempts me to shoot a smiley face on their target.Someone on either side of me planted a 9mm on my target
I have a soft spot for Ruger’s International rifles. They do look good .
I got this one from Buds right at the start of the pandemic. I was really trying for a S&W Model 63 .22/.32 kit gun, but I paid less for the 10/22 and a Mark IV 10” pistol combined than the closing auction prices for the used S&W’s.
(I ended up finding a really nice blued Model 34 for far less than a Model 63 instead. The stainless kit gun prices are just insane!)

Stay safe.
Ya, it came with a great big sticker on the receiver that said to hold there when assembling or taking down the gun or the stock could be damaged. I certainly will use that spot, I don’t want to crack this stock.I have an early 70s Belgian-made SA-22. I'm sure you'll sort out the rear sight issue. Here's a thought - a few years back, the NRA (and also Ruger) had a nice padded, 2-compartment carry case that works perfectly for the SA-22 when it's broken down. I don't know who actually made it, but both the NRA and Ruger embroidered their names on it. I assume it will also fit the Ruger take-down 10-22. If you look around you may still be able to find one. One more valuable tip for anyone owning an SA-22... when you either separate the two halves of the rifle or put it back together, DO NOT wrap your had around the wrist of the stock! Hold the receiver and NOT the stock! Many SA-22s have been broken at the wrist, where the stock is attached to the action! It's very easy to apply a little too much torque to the stock without realizing it. Enjoy your rifle!
