I've recently acquired a sporterized K98 Mauser. I would like to return it to it's millitary issue "look". Does anybody know where the best place to find a replacement millitary stock would be? It's the only part I'm having trouble finding.

Check out R Guns, web site is www.rguns.net, tel is 847 428 3569. They have a stocks set for the K98a inc barrel bands and handguard. Priced at 100 bucks (these have really gone up in price) and in supposedly very good condition.

While I hate to say it, but eBay can have some nice K98 stocks. There's sometimes overpriced junk, but there are also occasional gems. I was doing a similar restoration and lucked into a great Norwegian capture K98 stock that I got for next to nothing. It may take some time but they are there.

k98stocks.com
He is located in Norway and sells stocks from some of the Norge reworked k98's that have been disassembled. They are all matched w/handguard, bands, and spring. He's also identified/listed them by WaA# and manufacturer.
I just picked up one for a sportered ar code I recently acquired.

While my Norwegian didn't come directly from k98stocks.com I would bet that it originally did. It's one of the nicest K98 stocks that I have seen while not looking like it has been restored.
