Hey y'all,
Have a new CW45 and experienced one 'stovepipe' with a steel case on the last round in the mag (slide locked open though).
Are there repetitive issues I should look for? Thanks!

It was jammed lengthwise(!) and came unstuck when I hit the slide release. Have noticed it dings the cases a lot on two sides at the rim (jammed case was no exception). Have heard the cw45 has a long break-in period(?).

I'm a little confused.

If the slide is locked back, held by the slide stop, how could the case be jammed?
The distance from the chamber to the locked back breach face is longer than the case length.

Are you saying the case was laying loose on the magazine lips...not held by extractor?

Are you saying that you released the slide stop without pulling the magazine out?

Are you saying that the case was held by the extractor, but the ejector didn't kick it out?

I may be over simplifying this but...shoot it. Kahrs are one gun who mean what they say about 200 round break-in. I would get some good ammo and shoot a couple hundred rounds. Can almost guarantee it clear up on its own.

I would not complain if I had a problem with any pistol with tighter chambers when steel case ammo was used. Try shooting your pistol with some better quality of brass cased ammo. See if you still have any issues.

The reviews fro the Kahr CW45 are pretty mixed. Most of the complaints center around chambering. There is virtually no debate as to the superiority of brass over steel. Take the advice of previous replies. Get some decent ammo.

My CW45 was VERY ammo sensitive (even after two trips to the factory). The only ammo that worked fine was WWB, American Eagle FMJ and Remington Golden Sabre JHP. I loved the guns ergonomics and accuracy, but it was only reliable with those three brands of ammo.

The plot thickens:

It will now not chamber brass rounds by releasing the slide. I can pull the slide back and let it go and it will chamber and I can run through the mag, but the slide does not lock open after the last round. Interesting all the more because I had several mags of error-free performance out of the box.

That sounds like a mag issue or a feeding ramp that needs cleaning up. Did you take the gun apart clean and lube it?

Have had the increase in issues after clean & lube. Reassembly issue(?) Seems strange....

Sounds like the slide stop lever spring might be out of whack. Also, are you sure you're not riding the slide stop lever not allowing it to keep the slide open after the last round?

I have a few Kahrs, and IMHO, the slide stop lever is the weakest part of the design. I take a dremmel to all mine to reduce the surface area as much as possible. I shoot thumbs forward, and this shooting style doesn't play nice with their protruding slide stops.

What brass ammo not tulla?? Maybe you should have a buddy that's use to small pistols give it a try with no out side pressure.

DanO is the winner!
Was surprised to find out it will run not properly reassembled, but not well.
