Keltecs new 14 shot bullpup shotgun (neostead revived!)

(C) A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least two of the following:
(i) A folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
(iii) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds; and
(iv) An ability to accept a detachable magazine

This is a pump-action, not an auto.

Best fail yet on Glocktalk, where some idiot said it's a rip-off of the Halo shotgun. Yeah, sure, they're exactly alike, except that the Halo shotgun isn't a bull-pup, has a single magazine, is semi-auto not pump, looks suspiciously like a SPAS-12, and doesn't actually exist.

At the risk of letting my nerd show, the original M90 CAWS from Halo CE is a dual magazine pump action 8 gauge, which bares little resemblance to the SPAS at all.

Besides the dual magazine, pump action, and being awesome, it does have little in common with this latest offering from Kel Tec.

Are you sure he wasn't talking about the Halo Manufacturing P-12, which became the Monarch P-12, which never was marketed but was rumored to have been purchased by Magpul?

12 gauge
bullpup design
pump action
20-round detachable magazine

I have to say, the P-12 was the stuff of dreams, but Kel-tec seem to actually have improved on the design, especially with the integration of M1913 rails. (I guess I can stand the loss of going from 20-rounds to just a paltry 14 :evil:)

I like that Kel tec pushes the design envelope more than other manufactures. I just wish they built things a little better. I base that on the kel tecs I own.

Depending on the final price and the availability (is this going to be another RFB, years of shot show appearances and extremely limited availability after its release) it looks interesting. I'd prefer an auto but a pump could still be fun.

I hear you. I bet it's gonna run $2500.

a keltec rep stated it would be about half the price of a RFB. So we can probably expect a MSRP of around $800.

Looking at the pictures of it, it looks like its got plenty of room for a gas piston and Saiga detachable mag with very little redesign required. Although that would make it an assault weapon, its doesn't look too hard to adapt. At least with a pump the rounds will always cycle.

*EDIT*

Read through the thread on KTOG and found that in Reply #20 there is a rumor that once the pump is established that they'll bring out an auto-loader.

Not to sound like a luddite, because honestly I don't hate the bullpup design, but ...
What is the potential for catastrophic case failure in a shotgun vs. a rifle? Some people avoid bullpup rifles because they don't want their head that close to the possible explosion. Are there going to be a lot of people muttering about 12-gauge shells gone bad, and whether the Kel-Tec receiver can contain them?

If our economy continues to be depressed and cities start laying off police, this is going to a prime weapon for criminal/thieves to aquire. How's you like to go up against about 10-15 gang members/terroists with AK's and these. I need a couple of them but my 870 will do for now!

Thank You Senator Schumer. We are so lucky you have you as a member here.

If they made a semiauto version that was reliable AND quick to reload it might be good for open class 3 gun. Or tactical class with a magazine plug.

Cool, another Kel-Tec that will be released soon and available to actually buy 3 years from now.

Look i love the fact that Kel-Tec is bringing out innovative products, but i have been waiting over 2 months for my PMR-30 order to be filled. Kel-Tec needs to get their heads out of their nether regions and really start pushing production.

Can't find any info on Keltec's website. If its in the affordable range i'll totally go for one. Also Gelgoog, whats the chance there will be a 3 inch chambered one? I'd totally like to have that ability even tho it'd mean probably giving up a couple rounds when loaded with 3 inch shells.

I hope it makes it thru and gets released and is nice, I was really intrigued by the design of the neostead pics I have seen before.
Doesn't accept 3in shells.

-Cheers

People waiting on their RFBs have no sympathy for you, they have been waiting a lot longer than 2 months lol.

If our economy continues to be depressed and cities start laying off police, this is going to a prime weapon for civilians who need to defend their business and homes to aquire. How's would 10-15 gang members/terroists like to go up against lawfully armed civilians with AK's and these.
There. fixed it for ya.
Want one. ASAP.
I don't even OWN a shotgun right now...

I don't understand Kel-tec, they have to be making money, why don't they expand their manufacturing facilities? Surely if they don't want to front the cost some investors would.
