friend just brought his Desert Warrior by for me to look at.has about 500 rounds thru it,hard ball and some JHP.said he gets a jam about every other mag.has tried different mags, factory,Wilson,McCormick ect, same problem.usually when racking the slide a round will jam up in the throat.does it if you manually rack the slide or use the slide release. does it every once in a while while shooting.looks like the rim of the brass is hitting the extractor on it's way to chamber.I put an extractor from my well used Gold Cup in and it solved the problem.the Kimber extractor extends in more than my Colt extractor. anyone else have any such problems ? thanks jwr

Is he pulling the slide all the way back and releasing it to chamber a round? The reason for asking is that I've met quite a few auto owners who "Hollywood" the slide while chambering a round (grasping slide and holding on to it as it goes into battery); tends to jam that way.

Also it's slide stop not release. Pull all the way back and release the slide when chambering a round. It won't hurt the pistol. In other words, if the normal operation of the pistol's slide does'nt hurt the pistol, neither will drawing the slide all the way back then releasing for chambering.

Yep, sounds like he just needs to tune/adjust his extractor....easy to do...threads available on here with easy to understand instructions....
