I put a Kobra red dot on my Saiga, and while trying to get it sighted in im having a slight problem with the windage knob.

The knob itself will turn just fine, but the reticle was not moving to the left or right at all. Upon closer examination, i noticed that the center screw was not turning when the knob is moved as it does on the elevation knob.

So I tried taking off the knob and turning the center screw itself with a small screwdriver, but no luck. It does not want to turn in either direction and I am afraid of messing up the screw head.

While googling this problem i saw a thread over at AR15.com archives where someone had the same issue... But it wont let me see the thread unless i join, and they wont accept my gmail account to register with. So if anyone here is a member of that site this is the link i found -

AR15.COM :: Archives :: Kobra woes
archive.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=56&t=103658

If anyone has any suggestions or can copy any info from that thread to here i would greatly appreciate it.

I am guessing that it was turned enough times in the 'tighter' direction that it bound that way, and both the outer ring screw and center screw need to be loosened. Don't undo it a bunch out of a bag, as the detent ball/spring may go by by, consider a dab or Kroil to help loosen, and service depends on where you bought it.
