Lake City and Rem-Peterson

So I was at church tonight and a friend of mine came up and said you have a 308 right, I said yes. So he gave me 500 rds of 7.62, 200rds of Lake City and 300rds of Rem-Peterson.

Now I know what Lake City is, did Rem-Peterson have a governen contract, is it milspec? I plan on shooting it in a M-14 and a PTR-91.

If it says R*P 308 WIN, i suspect it's most likely from Remington UMC 150FMJ like what's available from walmart. It'll reload fine, but it's not real hard, in my experience. One trip through the PTR will give it pronounced flute marks (assuming you have a port buffer so it doesn't simply bash in the case on the port edge) which will size out to some extent, but I'm always a little suspicious about how it might headspace on any return trips, so i wouldnt bother with trying to load high-precision loads after the first time through. M1As dont seem to beat up brass as hard as PTRs.

I have a PTR, one of my good friends that i reload with has an M1A.
