Finally found a 45 Win Mag I liked. Not sure when it will arrive. Colorado is shut down. Am looking for some articles and any experiences you all have concerning the pistols. Thanks.

I've never held one but the size of the magazine and, therefore, the grip makes me think my hand couldn't wrap around it and still reach the trigger with my index finger.

Congrats on your grizzly. Please post a pic when you get it.

Here are two of mine. My apologies to those tired of seeing this pic.

I haven’t used them for hunting since I don’t hunt anymore. For me, they are fun to shoot a few mags at a time only, being that I am no longer 40. The recoil is pretty stout. That 45 Win Mag is similar to the 44 mag. I much prefer shooting the Wildey’s being that they are gas operated and more recoil friendly. But there is something very satisfying shooting a 1911 with such power.

Great round, had one and a TC 14" barreled in the same caliber, works great on hogs and deer, always wanted to take a bear with one,but ran out of time

Had a Wildey for awhile. Did not fit my hands and I never used it. Kept buying ammo for it though. Was reading John Taffin the other day. He said he had small hands and initially had difficulty gripping the Grizzly but after awhile he did not. So he convinced me to give it a shot.

There were several articles on it back in the mid-late 1980’s that should probably be found online.
I’ve only seen a couple in gun store cases, they were impressive beasts for sure!
Let us know how it shoots for you when you bring it home.
Stay safe.

Bought an extra ejector. Guy said it had "44" on it . Was a bit longer than 45 mag and it would work in the 45 just change the angle of ejection. Do any of you know more? Apparently he bought a collection. Figured my smith could shape it if needed.

Neat knife in the picture I have a Ralph Bone knife with that brass on the back of the blade. Deadly looking blade. So far all I've done is look at it.
Got another question. Guy I bought the gun from suggested I use recoil buffers to avoid beating up the frame. Is this really necessary? I believe it has a 28# spring.

I've never used a buffer in my grizzly. Nor have I ever heard of frame damage on one. Grizzly's are a very robust pistol. Extractors are their weakest part. The originals were cast or MIM, not sure. The extractors from EWK Arms are machined from tool steel and then heat treated. I bought two because mine broke. One for replacement and a spare. Excellent quality.

How does the saying go? "One is none and 2 is one". I think if one is good 2 is always better. My wife does not always agree. ( Not talking about wives. (Two of those is chaos I would think)
