"you could almost turn a profit at some of these buy backs. $75 pawn shop hi-point traded for a $100 walmart gift card = free publicity for the anti-gun forces sponsoring the buyback. I fixed it for you.

LOL. I've always wanted to buy some junk .22 barrels from Numrich and do a ton of simple "weld up" single shots. However there aren't any buybacks around here and they rarely offer anything "worth it". :(

Still I wonder, if microstamping is the future, can one make a gun that will stamp brass with"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHSUCKERSHAHAHAHAHAHA"? ;)

LICKITY SPLIT - "Actually, PT Barnum never uttered that quote either..."

Yep. Hannan did.

W.C. Fields said, "Never give a sucker an even break." :D

It doesn't matter. They flat out lie most of the time anyways. Might as well profit off it if you can. Heck, if somebody traded in toy guns, they'd just say it'd keep a kid from accidentally getting shot by a cop.

maby the buy back was not going that well so they had sombody grab a bunch of these out of a training room and show up when the media was there to make it look like it was going good??? I just would hate to think of a cop being so dumb to take a non working gun like that.

After looking at more of the pics it suprises me the lack of safty they used with these also i would of expected the actions open with some kind of stoper in all the bought guns so they know they were cleared and safe.

These "buybacks" get publicity whether you turn in guns or not. If no one showed up to turn in a gun they'd have some shills turn in the same gun 50 times and claim success. The only effect of you not participating is you miss the chance to take some of their money and buy new guns with it.

Some things are worth more than a few dollars.
Are you kidding me? You seriously think getting $100 for a crappy .22 rifle that doesn't work FROM SOME ANTI'S PURSE, that would otherwise be spent on some other deviant anti-2A cause is a bad thing?

Let's try it another way: Turn in your old pants that don't work and get enough money to buy new pants from someone who's trying to get everyone to wear skirts.

Nobody is trying to outlaw my pants(actually trousers) or my right to wear them. If you profit from the anti-gun activities while promoting such activities at least have the wherewithall to donate the money you get to NRA-ILA.

Good argument :banghead:

Having a non-working or otherwise crappy gun, then having anti's pay for a new working gun is quite contrary to their mission, and that is the definition of a "win win" situation.

It IS a win-win situation...for the anti-gun agenda. Took a gun of the streets=win. Validates gun buybacks as a crimefighting tool=win. It doesn't help the fight to save our rights or improve our relationship with the non-gun owning public. Just another feather in the gun banners cap.

Ha! Well they can just increase their budget for next year, and smart people will cash in. The: less guns equals less crime, is just simply not true so I'm not helping them (i.e. England), you and I both know they're just wasting their time, so what's the fuss?

I would literally have NO problem with them patting themselves on the back after they bought me a new gun. I'll concede your point and repair my statement: it's a win-win + win-win = Draw :neener:
