Was looking at getting a leather match sling for my Garand and 1903. I have been talking to two different manufacturers I gave both my height and weight (5'10" & 255lbs). One manufacturer (Ron Brown) said that really doesn't matter and said 52" should work. The other (Turner Match) said it does and said I needed a 54" maybe a 56". So I am a little confused over what to get at this point. Anybody have any insight as to who is correct?

This is how to determine your sling fit.

this is for sling lenght
I'm 5-9 and need the 56 in sling. Its about position. I use the exact same setting for sitting and prone. Didn't always, but I do now, and that can change later... I don't know.. Everyone is different.
Youll never sit there later wishing you had less sling, thats a fact, but you will be wishing you had more eventually if you ever modify or change position. If they had a 70 in one I'd have those. My JHW sling is over 60 and that little bit hanging out does not bother me at all, but its there if I ever need it. Having the frog in the last set of holes and not being able to seat the rifle has been a big bother. You can always trim it, but you can't put it on....

I always get 54's. I'm 5'11".

Thanks for the video. I love stuff like that, I hope I can get some time to watch it!
