Lee factory crimp die issues

I think it is pretty obvious by now the the OP has brass that did not size down enough due to over expansion near the web. Me? I would scrap all the cases that did not respond to the sizer. Others wouldn't, and that is their choice of course. Many people use the Redding or Lee dies to size the entire case. Roller sizers will also return the brass to a usable diameter.

OP should buy new un shot brass and try it out if e has no problem then it is the brass if he as the same problem it's is dies or die adjustment. I have a new 550 and once I got it adjusted no problems at all using the LEE deluxe 4 die set.

As has been said many, many times before.

It's amazing how many rounds of pistol ammo were loaded prior to Lee coming out with this, and all those rounds worked perfect by those who knew what they were doing.

It's amazing to me how many pieces of toast were made before Westinghouse came out with the electric toaster. All those pieces of toast were toasted perfectly by people who knew what they were doing.

Lee FCD is nothing more than a combination die just like a seating/crimping die. Some prefer to seat and crimp in a separate operation. For those that do it's a very good adjustable die.

Just like toast, you can make it without a pop-up toaster.

That is the way I do it seat one die and crimp on the next one..
