Lee Loadmaster Priming Upgrade?

I've cranked out ~4000 rounds of .40S&W with my Dillon X650 since the .40 conversion kit came in. Not a single primer issue. I reload out in the garage, so I pretty much have to load a year's worth of ammo in our ~4 month "not summer" season. Not summer seems like its going to be shorter than normal this year :(

If there is any wear on my Dillon primer system (over 40K 9mm loaded on it while I've had it). Only issue is when I miss a "GI crimped" 9mm brass it stops me dead in my tracks until I clear it, same as that damn SP .45ACP brass stops me when loading .45ACP. I cull them as best I can, but with the volume I shoot I miss more than a few when picking up my brass and others at our club have been shooting them. Its just another of life's irritations I've learned to live with.

I have had a few parts breakage on my Dillon worst was one of the link arms cracked, they sent me a replacement for free after a phone call, (there is a tread about it here when I was getting cases stuck in the sizing die, they sent me a replacement shell plate which helped, but then I noticed one of the link arms had cracked which was the real source of the problem). Also had the index cam return spring break, and the primer ratchet return spring break, again they dropped replacements in the mail for free after a phone call.

Any progressive press on the market will have issues. Some are fault of the press some are the fault of the person using it. If you have something that is working for you, that's great. I have 10 of thousands of rounds from my progressive and the only fails I had are self induced. Small primer .45acp mixed in with large, a few crimped 9mm cases that should have been in the mix of range pickup. Bottom line, I'm very pleased with my Lee Load Masters. I see no reason to switch to anything else. I enjoy finding "problem presses" and bring them back to service. I've done this on a variety of colors including red, green, and blue. Happy reloading. :)

After reading this thread I tried to get my Gen 1 priming troughs replaced and this is what lee sent me back in an email. "No, the parts are not faulty. There was not a manufacturing defect in the original version of the Loadmaster priming tools, or the Bullet Feed Kits, so the parts do not fall under a no charge replacement clause. We updated those parts in 2011; as more than 5 years have passed and our warranty policy has changed, we will no longer send them out at no charge." Lee Is the Harbor Fright of Reloading Equipment. mostly all JUNK.

Great, send that "JUNK" to me and I'll gladly take it off your hands. I'll even pay for the shipping.
