Tripods are not terrible to move around if you prep your area well (clear our leaves that can make noise) and are shooting minute of deer, and they are very stable

This tripod is sturdy but well priced at $140, for hunting this tripod and a one of their recommended ball heads or even just a sandbag will be stable enough for 99% of hunting out to about 300yds, probably more stable than a tall bipod or shooting sticks

I can vouch for a ckye-pod. MDT just purchased the rights to it and will be making it soon, so a big company with great customer service

I almost never shoot off the top of a tripod. I got the RRS vyce version of the hog saddle a few years ago and gave it away last year because i never used it. Shooting off the legs is way more stable. If you look at the thread above and see the size targets, those were shot from chest high off the legs. Shooting off the top of a Small tripod is way way less stable

This is my favorite one, I also have the original version that has been my main bipod for years. I just picked up the V2 at the Western Hunting and Cons. Expo in Salt Lake this past week. He has made some good improvements too. My original set are 27” but I went with 30” for these new ones. I find I need a bit more length when calling coyote cause I usually sit on an elevated spot with a downhill slope in front of me. They are super light, compact and easy to use when hunting on foot and very durable.

I'd point to Jack Ryan's post #24. Either that or the homemade sticks I use... bamboo cut to aproximately my height and joined with braided 550 cord. You set the cord to the height you figure you'll need... I'm usually leaning on a tree. But, what version you use, and how you use it, will likely vary with geography.
