I should probably wait till tomorrow to see if my jones changes.....but for now it is Marlin lever guns, with S&W revolvers coming in a close second.

I switched from auto's to revolvers, cause i don't like to pickup brass.

I could find one without a loading gate, I'd probably carry a single-action revolver every day.

I'm good with Glocks, but last times I carried, 'twas a 657 .41 Magnum.

Cowboy action is my new jones. I'm a big history buff, and the history behind the American West and its weapons really facinates me. One day I'd like to have a pair of colt SAA's, but I'd make due with a couple of Ruger Vagueros.

My quirk is 1911's. Whenever I see one that suits my fancy I just have to have it.

Shotguns for me. Pump, SxS, O/U, single, whatever. 12ga preferred, but 20ga and 16ga are fun too.

Never shot a 10ga.........................yet! :D

edit to add: I do not care for PG-only SGs.

'Smith revolvers made between around 1950 up until they stopped making square butts.

Oh yeah, and I kind of have a thing for small bore rifles. Just picked up ANOTHER 22-250... *sigh*

Light bullets. Fast Speeds. Even for .45 ACP I prefer the 155gr Sinterfire.

The recoil just feels better.

Quirks?

Yup! My name is Steve and I'm an ammo snob. Especially ammo (bullets in particular) that I trust my life to. I don't care about the caliber, big vs. small, bolt, auto, single-shot, revolver, or whatever. If I'm going to use it for anything off the range like hunting or SD, it has to be stuffed with the latest, greatest, custom, premium ammo money can buy. With emphasis on premium or custom cast bullets made or loaded by the usual suspects. And I really dig the High Energy and Light Magnum concepts using premium bullets by Federal and Hornady respectively. I really wish more manufacturers embraced this idea.

When I enter my favorite emporium for hunting or SD ammo, I turn my nose up at the regular off-the-shelf stuff by the major makers. No Core-Lokts, or Power-Points for me. Federal Classic? No way! Okay I have some of those on hand. But that's only because I couldn't find any 150 grain Ballistic Tips and it did pain me to buy them.
When it comes to SD ammo I even tell my department which to buy.

I believe that bullet technology and manufacturing techniques in the last few years has allowed us to use calibers for applications that a few years ago would have required a jump to a larger caliber. There is even a better understanding as to how cast bullets behave on firing and the optimum hardness to get them to perform their best in specific applications (explainations on Garrett Cartridges website are examples).

I like beat up guns. Not screwed up or badly mangled but I love a gun with some dents, marks and scrapes. "War Wounds" as I like to call them.

I like single stack .380s for some reason. PPK, Bersa, Mauser HSc, etc.

Anything by H&K (especially the innovative designs such as the P7, VP70, P9S)

Guns that are: strange, unusual, rare, funky, weird, etc.

I don't have any as selection in CA sucks, but pistol caliber carbines seem like they'd be loads of fun. I'd love to do an IDPA match with one...

"Uhhh yeah I carry it!"
