I came across an 8.6 BLK barrel for my Fix. If I were to drop a Leupold Scope with CDS system on it could I order one dial for my subsonic ammo and one dial for my supersonic ammo and simply switch dials when I switch ammo? I'm thinking no because of initial difference in POI but curious if I'm wrong.

As you surmised, it won't work unless they share the same POI. You'd have to re-zero when changing loads.

It might be "good enough" for your application with the subs, but not something I'd do.

As long as both loads are on the same vertical plane it should work . the base sight in ranges will be different though . Leupold can make dials with ballistic ranges starting from different ranges , my .280 has a base setting of 250 yards and goes out to 750 , so i have a point blank range of about 275 yards before i would need to dial in . So if you zero in for one or the other , then figure what range the other is set to zero at , they should be able to make you a turret based on that load , too . But only one would have a 100 yard zero , the other would be at whatever range it happens to zero at . You would just have to make sure you had it set to your starting range when you change turrets though .

IMO it is better to just use the dial that comes with the scope and print out a cheat sheet for each load. Tape it to the stock with clear packing tape. Works even if you have a different zero for each load and is faster to use.

It's the method I use. I haven't bothered to order dials for the last 4 CDS scopes I bought.

The odds are I'll change my load or can't find that bullet etc.
