Hello everyone! Im thinking about putting together a 300 bo AR. I have an old Marlin 94 that I love, and know the 300 is the same balistics of .357, and consider that a good thing. The question I have, does anyone make a lightweight barrel? I get the .308 bore will make the barrel heavier than a .224, but most of them I see are far fatter than AK/M1 barrels. So far the best I can find is this. http://www.shop.masdefense.com/16-3...EIGHT-MELONITE-NITRIDE-BARREL-1638LDBL-MN.htm, but would like it to be about 3 ounces lighter (or more), and don't like that they don't tell you where its made. Im putting an A2 site on it, so can't get a tapered barrel, and am not interested in going below 16". Anyone use something lighter? thank all.
