lightweight barrel lr-308L

Considering a DPMS LR-308L, with an eighteen inch lightweight barrel. The company's product description says it's designed for "quick handling and single-shot accuracy."

I like the relatively light weight of the rifle, but I'm concerned that the trade off for less weight will be a thin barrel that flexes and "strings" as it heats up. I don't want a semi-auto if follow up shots are going to be inaccurate. Anyone have any experience with this rifle? Speculations?

If you want light, and don't mind paying a lot for a barrel, talk to ABS about a carbon wrapped barrel. They make them for the AR-15 and AR-10. I have not tried the AR-10 version, but shot an AR-15 with their barrel and it was light and accurate.

the LR-308 AP4 is a Light & handy combo (but only has a 16" Barrel)
