I recently posted about priming problems on my Loadmaster but couldn't find the post to update so here is the update.

I was having problems with cases not getting primed or primed sideways or upside down. This problem has plaqued me for weeks. What I found is pure operator error.

I watched a video on using the sizer die to set oprimer depth so you don't have to adjust the primer depth stop bolt on the side when switching calibers.

I tried making sure the press was indexed properly, calling the factory techs for help, (which they tried very hard to help me with the problem.) No matter what I did I had numerous cases w/o primers.

Fast forward: I setup my dies as recommended. Problem was I saw the part that said to run the shellplate to contact with the decapping die and back the decapper die out one-eighth to one-quarter turn. I adjusted out one-eigth turn. As it turns out, the decapper was limiting the sizer die depth.

I finally ran the ram all the way up and used a light to check the distance to shellplate contact. Let me add I checked the reloads in a case gage and some would not fit all the way into the gage. I also noticed some primers that seated sideways and some would fall out with finger pressure.

The problem turned out to be that backing the decapper out 1/8th turn was not enough to allow the sizer die (which I setup first) to fully contact the shellplate. I simply needed to back the decapper out 1/8th turn more for a total of 1/4 turn to allow the sizer to fully contact the shellplate. Walla! No more priming problems at all.

Sounds simple but it drove me crazy. I just wanted to pass this along for anyone else who might encounter this problem.

I have to add Lee Precision techs sent me the Gen II primer feed assembly to help with my problem which actually did help. Great customer service! I can now load without priming problems. I'll just chaulk it up to a lesson learned.

Hope this can help anyone else who runs into this problem.

Thanks to all who contributed with suggestions to help me with my problem.

Sorry for the long post.
